The deadline for the sale to go through or the administrators rethink and probably kill us off. This is now frightening and our beloved club may only have weeks to live. Once again us fans will have to dig deep and raise enough cash for us to survive even if only temporary . Yet another gun being pointed at our heads by those supposedly trying to save the club.
13 August 2020 at 6:24 pm #188760Ever met an accountant you have actually liked because I sure as hell haven’t!
As grim a statement as I have ever read about Wigan Athletic FC and very very worrying times for what seems to be at the moment a dying football club.
The back is firmly against the wall now and fight looks very weak tonight.
Heartbroken 💔13 August 2020 at 6:24 pm #188761I honestly do not know how Dave Whelan can sit on so much wealth at the age he is and watch the club die a slow death. A club he poured his heart and soul into and no doubt gave him some of the greatest memories in his life.
Tip,
You can take it with you, spend it while you can see the joy it brings to 1000’s of others like it done before. These are sad times both Covid and football , sad sad times13 August 2020 at 7:09 pm #188763If anyone was still in any doubt how bad the situation now is, paragraph 1 of the Administrators’ statement spells it out.
If a deal isn’t signed by 31st August they are shutting us down.
Short of winning the Euro lottery on Friday not sure what we can do about it.
We really are about fecked. Pollard may be our last hope

It will go to the wire
In any deal if someone accepts your offer too early you will always think u could have got a better deal
Patience needed, something I have little of!13 August 2020 at 7:25 pm #188765Brinkmanship It will go to the wire In any deal if someone accepts your offer too early you will always think u could have got a better deal
I hope the interested parties are indeed leaving it to the last minute, then one swoops in to save the day. I was worried before. Now I’m f***ing anxious!!

I can only imagine that his silence is because he is one of the parties who are still interested. If he’s not, then the next thing to go to fund salaries should be his statue.
13 August 2020 at 7:38 pm #188767Partly his fault we are in this position

If we come through this, the Supporters Club deserve a voice on the board of WAFC, and every fan needs to join the supporters club so their voices can be heard.
We can’t let something like this rip our hearts out like this ever again.
I’m going over there now, and if they are till taking on new members I’m signing up tonight and I hope every other fan does too.13 August 2020 at 9:27 pm #188773It doesn’t look like they are taking membership yet for the coming season.
13 August 2020 at 9:31 pm #188774Prem clubs with all the money cannot see the wood for the tree’s. They think their immune but sadly there not.
When your playing “Jenga” you dont topple it by pulling out from the top (Prem) you start from the bottom.
Lower League shapes our game. I’ve been saying for years the greed bubble will burst and there’s no better time than the present14 August 2020 at 9:56 am #188781If anyone was still in any doubt how bad the situation now is, paragraph 1 of the Administrators’ statement spells it out.

It isn’t quite that bad if no contract is signed by then but it isn’t exactly great either.
