There’s a few people saying how poor the atmosphere can be, when Whelan’s brass band came to Wembley I thought it was good, might be an idea to have them at the odd game, Liverpool might be good for a trial, they could set up in the East Stand corner which is now left empty.
They could do a rendition of that ‘busy’ tune that they use to have on Ground Force, just before they revealed the finished garden. That should give gee everyone on a bit.

Definitely can’t see the brass band idea working in the West Stand. If it woke up the Cocoon Club, they’d only end up requesting ‘Abide With Me’ or ‘The Old Rugged Cross’.In all honestly, I actually quite like the idea of a Wigan band.
In all honestly, I actually quite like the idea of a Wigan band.Sadly “Whelan’s” band that Blueview initailly referred to was not in fact the Wigan band at all. It was the Pemberton Old Brass Band based on Tunstall Lane which Whelan sponsored some years ago and it was renamed to, yep you guessed it, the JJB Brass Band.
I’m not 100% sure of their recent history and so i can’t confirm whether they are still called that but, they are a brass band and they are from Wigan…
