Do you think another 12 points would see us safe?
We have some difficult games, but looking at our fixtures, 4 stand out. Bolton, Burnley, Pompey & Hull.
If we could win those 4 games, I think we would be safe.
We still have Man Citeh as well, that could well be a bonus.
Against the above 4 teams, we should go all out to win and treat them as cup finals. If we succeed, its worth more the club than a decades cup finals.1 March 2010 at 9:57 pm #24941These games are definitly winnable.
However so were Stoke and Bolton at home.
Pompey will be up for it no doubt, their result at Burnley just goes to show they’re not going to make things easy. Bolton away will be tough aswell. I do think 37 points will be enough this season. So four wins would do it, or three wins and three draws. It all depends what latics team turns up on the day.1 March 2010 at 11:00 pm #24950Weve won 6 games out of 27. We wont get anything from the games against Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa and Chelsea. That leaves 4 wins from 7 games left. Dream on.
2 March 2010 at 12:44 am #24963None of the away games look winnable to me and the home matches also look very very omnious now in light of recent form.
I was at saturdays game and Latics played a very average PL side who shut them out with great ease.It was probably the easiest three points they have won all season.
Its no use looking at the fixtures and saying well win that game and that because at the moment this team doesnt look capable of winning full stop!
The reality of this situation needs to kick in with Roberto and company quickly and i mean bloody quickly or we will be playing our last premier league game against Chelsea on May 9th.2 March 2010 at 12:50 am #24965to be honest it would not surprise me if we didnt win another game this season we do not look like scoring at the moment, it is very worrying but i hope i am wrong and it changes soon

I will have what he’s having, That is a maniac prediction. Why all of a sudden will we start picking up points. Martinez wont change the formation now, He is too pig headed. 4 points we will get and go sailing out of this league. By the time we play Hull it could be all over.

It could well be or on the other hand it may not
2 March 2010 at 1:05 am #24974I forgot about Man City make that 4 wins from 6 games. To win these games we have to create clearcut chances, something we are not capable of doing under the present formation.

Chelsea v Latics – 0 points2 March 2010 at 10:40 am #25008My negativity is sometimes down to frustration and anger, but with now such a short time left, I see there is no point in losing my hair over the football.
All I will say about the final stages, is a regularly used quote suggests we will manage to stay up.
“When you are creating chances but not scoring, it’s a frustration. When you’re not creating chances, then it’s time to worry.”
If the above proves correct, we will stay up. Hugo had enough chances to win us the game at Brum and some of our earlier results have been down to lacking the final touch.
“swings and roundabouts” is another well used quote, well we must be due a few dodgy penalties or offside goals. -
