What is your greatest ever Latics goal?
Just been on You Tube because I fancied seeing if there was a clip of Haworth’s goal against Gillingham in the League 1 play-off final.
What a belter! I remember seeing it live but that was the first time I think I’ve seen it since. We may have lost that game but what a goal ;)
Difficult one, but has to be one of two.
Zaki’s goal against Liverpool, if not for the goal but the age it took to get to teh Wigan fans to Celebrate.
Also, Ellingtons goal against Wolves in the promotion season 3 each game.
One’s that stick in my head are Howarth of course, Baines against Ipswich with a bit of bend on and a pile driver by Jorg Smeets not sure who against. Oh yeah and Ellingtons goal against Chesterfield away on his debut was class.
What about Landzaat against Arsenal at the Emirates? That was a beauty!
Oh and talking about Arsenal, how about Roberts’ goal to send us to Cardiff and Charlie’s goal last season :D
Gawd this is difficult so ill go with either Peter Houghton v Villa (league cup) or Henry Camara v Sunderland
I recall afew gooduns well before our prem days,Bryan Grithiths,at Anfield,also remember goals by Steve Morgan and a screamer by Stan Mc Ewan.
Gary Powell at Springfield v Shrewsbury. Got the ball from a throw, beat about 5 players then slotted it in the bottom corner. Well ok, it bobbled in a bit but it was still a quality goal.
David Lowe’s overhead kick against Brentford inth Freight Rover Final?
It was so good, I even forgave the bloke in charge of the scoreboard for his inability to spell Athletic.
Remember the McKenna one against Stoke when we beat them 6-1. I think Dagleish’s one was quite good aswell.
,also remember goals by Steve Morgan and a screamer by Stan Mc Ewan.Do you mean the one when he (Morgan) cracked one in from about forty yards into the top corner at Springy?. I remember that one even though I was only young at the time, because he was, in effect sh1te, and I remember thinking how the hell did he do that.! Cracking goal.!
duster remember owd johny rogers brace at goole town away. it were a beltin brace. gooligans were munkon. they were proper maultdeerf. thas were’nt frikky of gooligans though! thas had a fine tay that neet as this mon was reet klempt :P :P :P
