Currently you are correct Messi is a good un but not the best footballer of all time
I think he is the best player of all time. Obviously just my opinion but given the stats etc and from what I have witnessed, he comes out on top for me ! If he had played for his country with a better team he would have really proved his worth but at this time Argentina are nowhere near as good as the team Maradona played with !
Personally, I still think that Zidane/Pele were the most complete, all-round players, but for pure attacking flair, there aren’t many to touch Messi.
Maradona took an average Argentina team and won the world cup with them, also took a below average Napoli team and did great things with them.
Messi is good onhis day, but dissapeared in the world cup.

Think there are too many good players from too many generations to pick one out. Different teams, leagues and circumstances depict a good player for a certain level.
All a matter of opinions, has to be Pele for me.I was too young to remember him. Zidane is the best I’ve seen live.
Got to be george best,if he was that good back then how good would he be in todays game with the bowling green pitchs,fancy boots and footballs
