Yosser, did you read that article posted by Griff? If so, did you digest and understand it?
I’ll guess the answer to one of those questions will be no.
For the past half dozen seasons there have been frequent postings of financial articles and reports regarding Wigan Athletic’s finances, which all explain simply but in some detail, where the money from TV and gate receipts (etc) go, and why the club needs to sell its best players.
I am yet to see an article written by somebody with a journalistic or financial background demonstrating how Dave Whelan is the sole cause of Wigan Athletic’s debt, and how he has been making a tidy profit from the club whilst pulling the wool over the unsuspecting supporters’ eyes.
Yes, you can question the manager’s ability and his tactics. Yes, you can question Whelan’s announcement and his sincerity when speaking to the media. All of these things however, are subjective and you will never get everyone to agree on a stance no matter how forcefully you argued the case.
The issue of Wigan athletic paying out more money than it receives on the other hand, is fact, and cannot be debated even by the most deluded and frustrated Whelan hater.
If you cannot see this, or refuse to see this, then there is clearly some other underlying dislike for the man, because surely nobody’s judgement can be that clouded.
