apparantly, looking at a different venue as they are not allowed to play at home on the same weekend as latics.
latics have preference, so they are looking at alternative venues
dont laugh :P

We don’t play ’em ’till next season!
2 May 2012 at 12:16 am #86377BBC say they’ve got that game on, on the Saturday at 2:30pm but no mention of a venue. Either Whelan has relented and has let them play or they’re frantically trying to find a venue.
2 May 2012 at 12:27 am #86378In the summary of televised fixtures, there’s no mention of where Catalan v Warrington is being played either.
2 May 2012 at 12:30 am #86379just been on worriors forum for a quick nosy, apparently the’re not happy
2 May 2012 at 12:38 am #86380There is no reason why the warriors cant play Saturday at the dw!

That said it will be laughable for them as a club and Rugby League as a sport if WWRLFC are forced to play a high profile derby game at another venue. Almost makes you feel sorry for them.

just been on worriors forum for a quick nosy, apparently the’re not happy :lol:From Wigan Warriors Fans website:
“Sooner it was at the egotist’s DW but it seems inevitable that this will not be the case as the boys with the bendy ball get preferential treatment. We will stuff the stains no matter the venue. However it is about time that we got our own stadium and left the girls to play patacake patacake.I’m fed up of playing second fiddle to a second rate team that will always prop up the big boys.I would even pay a little extra money to watch my team in it’s own stadium than continue pandering to I love myself Dave.Wigan is a Rugby Town not football town.”
Meow! Handbags.
They seem convinced their game will be at Widness.

There is no reason why the warriors cant play Saturday at the dw!The FA do not allow the rugby to play less then 24 hours before a premiership football match. They’d have to get up pretty early to get around that one!
2 May 2012 at 12:45 am #86384Phil Wilkinson on Twitter reckons Leigh (although they are still in the cup and have been drawn at home the same weekend) or the Reebok the preferred venues.
Maybe they could have the Leigh and Wigan games back to back at LSV :)

Yup, no mention of the 24 hours thing, as is often trotted out by the media, in the Premier League rules.
All it says it that football matches must take priority in scheduling.
2 May 2012 at 12:54 am #86387Page 148 (para 4) if you are really interested. Note that there is nothing about playing other sports within 24 hours of a Premier League fixture.

Ground Sharing
4. No Club shall have or enter into a ground-sharing agreement unless the agreement contains
a legally enforceable provision to the effect that the playing of the Club’s League Matches
shall always take precedence over the activities of the other party to the agreement. -
