Now I’m all for freedom of speech and respecting people’s opinions but every now and then someone says something so ludicrously stupid……..How has Paul McCartney ever sold a record? Are you for real? He was in a band called The Beetles, you know.

Cracking post, if the intention was to get peoples backs up. But I have to agree that he was very poor at the weekend, his voice has pretty much given up and the lack of energy was obvious. One of the greats who should have retired.

A bit unfair to single out McCartney even though his voice is on the wane. I thought Elton John’s voice wasn’t too great either and the less said about some of the other younger so called “singers” the better.

To be honest from what I saw the whole event was shite and if we are talking McCartney post Beatles ( That’s how you spell it ! ) I think he has been shite as well and I certainly would never buy any dross that he has produced on his own ! doooo !!

I can see where you are coming from. Look at it this way: 90% of the music he made with the Beatles was good / 90% of the music he has made post-Beatles is garbage. Obviously this isn’t a factual statistic in any way, but I’m sure the majority wouldn’t argue with the sentiment of it.

Best performer of the night has got to be Stevie Wonder IMO. For the older amongst you, IMO means ‘in my oppinion’, it is not an academic qualification. I was watching the event on a big outdoor screen (unfortunately working) and he and Madness were the only artists that made the crowd (and myself) want to sing along to. Tom Jones would have got into that list a few years back, but it just seemed as though he was a bit up himself on stage, possible a result of the constant media attention since his role on the dross that is The Voice.
