good or bad
no royalty no lords no conservative parliament dictating to the working class
my view it could well be a good thing ,very worrying for the rich backed tory party
as i see many english will move across the border for a fresh start and a new beginningwhat views do you have if any on this subject ?

Nonsense, They will not have the umbrella that is england to hide under in times of hardship. They do not have their own nuclear capabilities, therefor rendered a sitting duck and incapable of defending itself. Currency issues? if they disband from us then make them get their own currency, which will make greece look like the UAE. Reduce all trade to them and let them find their own links, of which england will just out bid them anyway.
Rep of ireland!!! on their own and look at the state of the euro in their country. Theres only greece, portugal worse….austerity measures galore, prices sky high on everything…..no thanks
If scotland want to detach from us then so be it…..I will feel sorry for caldwell, fyvie, maloney, mcarthur and bobby’s wife when scotland falls below the faroe islands in the world pecking order.
17 October 2012 at 5:30 pm #95100I am thinking it would be more of a worry for the english labour party, rather than the “rich tories”. All the scottish (labour)MP’s would presumably be part of the independent scottish government and I don’t see how the labour party would win a general election without their support…… the tories have hardly any MP’s in scotland, so it wouldn’t affect their total in Westminster.
17 October 2012 at 9:19 pm #95125understand bryn about MP’s but i meant could trigger mass migration of english workers to scotland
who are having thier working rights torn to pieces bit by bit
and are just slaves for the well off
so they would have to rely on more cheap and poor work force from abroad to replace those that do go to scotland17 October 2012 at 9:59 pm #95126understand bryn about MP’s but i meant could trigger mass migration of english workers to scotland

What on earth do you think all these English workers will do when they get to Scotland?
The place has little industry and is awash with call centres for foreign and British companies already filled with Scottish people.
There’s ample unemployment in Scotland to fill any jobs that come up.
I think you’ve seen too many episodes of Monarch Of The Glen.

Since the industrial revolution both countries have fallen from greatness into great depression. There is nothing to go to Scotland for, Unless you like snow and the Caledonia region. Which incidentally is beautiful.
18 October 2012 at 2:03 am #95139According to the official FIFA rankings Scotland have now fallen behind that island that Tom Hanks was marooned on in Castaway !!
