They do not have their own nuclear capabilities, therefor rendered a sitting duck and incapable of defending itself.

      This is a wind-up, right?[/quote]

Wind up???? a countries ability to protect itself is of the highest importance. Hence why tens of billions is spent on defense. It’s also a sign of power on a world stage. WE have the “finger on the button” if you like. Scotland will/do not.

Think of it this way – If you leave a job, your former employer will not keep paying you or contribute any more to your pension!!!!! YOUR ON YOUR OWN IN A NEW JOB/LIFE. Can’t have the best of both worlds, doesn’t work like that!

Are you the geezer who has been putting the Anthrax in the drugs. If you have been to London and Edinburgh for meetings recently you are in and around your niche market.

I fail to see how an independent Scotland would suddenly become a sitting duck target – from whoever that may be – because they not do not possess a nuclear deterrent?

No, to quote Sammy, surely this has to be a wind-up.

Here, have a read of this:

There are currently eight states that have successfully detonated nuclear weapons. Five are considered to be “nuclear-weapon states” (NWS) under the terms of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). In order of acquisition of nuclear weapons these are: the United States, Russia (successor state to the Soviet Union), the United Kingdom, France, and China. Nations that are known or believed to possess nuclear weapons are sometimes referred to as the nuclear club.
Since the NPT entered into force in 1970, three states that were not parties to the Treaty have conducted nuclear tests, namely India, Pakistan, and North Korea. North Korea had been a party to the NPT but withdrew in 2003. Israel is also widely believed to have nuclear weapons, though it has refused to confirm or deny this, and is not known to have conducted a nuclear test.[1]
South Africa has the unique status of a nation that developed nuclear weapons but has since disassembled its arsenal before joining the NPT.

Yep, Scotland should be right up there with them and have a nuclear programme of its own. In fact, f’ck it, why isn’t the Isle of Man competing in the nuclear race?

Or Coppull even. I’d sleep at lot easier tonight knowing there was a nuclear arsenal just down the road ready to protect me from a would be aggressor.

I’ve heard they have Trident warheads in Coppull. Or was it Trident’s Old Spearhead IPA at the White Crow? Can’t remember now.

Tell them to get their own language, currency, defence systems etc. If they want to break away, feck em,………… they hate us, treat em like the french (sorry to our players)

              that is all

nice to see a bit of xenaphonbia coming out. What is wrong in a country having the right to decide its own fate from a union that has past its sell by date for those who live in it. We should really worry about the £25k debt we all now owe courtsy of the last labour government.

For the record, they have their own language, currency, nuclear arsenal.

I doubt Scotland will vote for independance, but this isnt a financial decision for them, its a vote for the ability to rule themselves.

I suspect by many of the attitudes on here it is hardly surprising that they dont give a f*ck about england.
