Wigan Athletic has announced that 22 year old James McArthur will come on trial for a week at the DW Stadium, Roberto is said to be very hopeful that it will lead to something more permanent.
McArthur comes from the same club as wonder kid James McCarthy and Roberto has been said to have been watching the player for quite a while. If everything goes OK with the trial it could lead to Latics signing the youngster in the summer.
McArthur is regarded as one of the up and coming stars in Scottish football and 22 is coming to his prime. He is very excited to be given the chance to play in the Premier League and hopes his trial goes well so he can team up with his pal James McCarthy again.
He said” I’m going to Wigan in a few weeks’ time, it’s a chance for me to see what’s down there and how good the standard is. I’ve spoken to James and he has told me what the Premiership is like and how everything is run down there. He’s done excellently and there’s no reason why I can’t go down and prove myself good enough as well.”
