Chairman gives Shrews tickets to fans who missed out.
The Chair shows the way
After us questioning the whether taking tickets away from the fans that go to every game was selfish (article here), Wigan Athletic Chairman Talal has put his tickets up for grabs on twitter, he said:
“So… I was hoping to attend in the away end on Saturday,” he tweeted. “But I feel it’s not right that I take three tickets from loyal supporters!
“Send in your pics of supporting the team this season and I will pick a winner later today.”
All credit to a guy who obviously get’s it to be a fan. Shrewsbury only allocated us 1647 seats for the gaem that could see us promoted, or even win the Legaue.
After weeks of asking for more tickets, the realisation is here now that there isn’t going to be any more. I really hope the ground is full so we don’t have a reason to ask why more weren’t released.
It is a superb gesture from Talal, wonder if any of the ‘one away game of the decade’ glory hunters will do the same?
