It isn’t like Wigan Athletic to barter so much over a player, but the negotiating over Ali Al-Habsi is being really drawn out seeing as Bolton have said three times that they will only settle on £4 million.
We went in with a bid of £3 million, then £3.5 million and then £3.7 million, each time Latics were told that it would take £4 million to get their man.
Player of the season Ali Al Habsi has made no secret that he wants to move, we have made no secret that we want him to sign, so why not stop mucking about and get the full wad over there and get him in before another team sneaks in and scuppers it.
It should hopefully be done before the end of this week and then we can move on.
James McCarthy is also going to be offered a new deal to end his transfer speculation.
