How the hell did he get MOTM? He can’t tackle and his sole contribution was to pass the ball back to Bramble and Scharner every chance he got. I thought Bob said he was a creative midfielder. I know it’s early days and we have to give him a chance but he don’t look anything special to me.

My question was how did Gomez get MOTM? I would have been hard pressed to pick 1 after Tuesday’s nightmare but i don’t think he was the best Wigan player on the pitch.And as I said I will give him time as it is a big step up form the Championship to the Premier League.

Hindley, on the subject of Jeff Wright. Was he crap? I always remember my dad saying he was crap, but I was too young to know any different and was just happy to jump up and down when we scored and look forward to a pie at half time.
Some people on here remember him with fondness. I just remember my dad’s expert analysis of ‘Jeff Wright? Load of crap.’
