Both Wigan Athletic and Wigan Warriors are tenants at the DW Stadium (owned by the Whelco group)
Both clubs pay rent to use the stadium, and is based on a percentage of their gate & season ticket receipts.
It’s as simple as that.
As far as the corporate side is concerned Whelan (Whelco) will take a percentage to cover rent and supply of staff etc.
I think you’ll find that the DW Stadium has been or is about to be signed over to Wigan Athletic Football Club and having a contract in place for other teams/another team to ‘lodge’ there.
