6 April 2015 at 12:26 pm #140837It’s been bloody awful watching latics this season and its testament to the loyalty of the fans that our crowds have stayed over 11k consistently.
Only because they bought STs on the back of a successful campaign and an FA Cup semi final the season before. Watch them plummet in August, regardless of which division you are in.

They wont plummet to the numbers the rugby had when they dropped a division that’s for sure!
7 April 2015 at 7:14 pm #140935Their average crowd actually increased when they were relegated….
12 April 2015 at 12:06 pm #141131Still unsure what your point is? We have had bigger crowds than the Rugby for around a decade. We may well slip a couple of divisions meaning our attendances will drop. Similarly if you dropped one or two divisions so would yours. It’s more and more bemusing why you would want to compare the two clubs despite the facts remaining that you get fewer through the gate. If that changes will it really give you an erection next year? Say if we get 9k on and you average 11k? Feel for you really. Never imagined we would be so significant.

In fact, I’ve never started an attendance thread at all.
I dont dispute that you get more through the gate on match days. What I do dispute is how many of those are PAYING home fans. We know that hundreds, if not thousands are given to local schools every week, and we know that there are far more visiting football fans have been coming to the DW for the past 10 years, yet you and your ilk constantly want to claim they are paying Wigan fans.
You really should concentrate on your own club’s on-field activities (such as when this long home record will be broken, or whether they will be relegated by Millwall, Brighton or Wolves, or even why they have appointed a universally unpopular player & captain as manager) rather than the off-field activities of another sport.
“Obsessed” and “chip on shoulder” spring to mind
12 April 2015 at 4:35 pm #141144Hang on here. Your a rugby fan on a Wigan Athletic forum and are completely obsessed with ‘crowd size’. You can take every away fan out of it and we still bettered your attendances in the top league and that’s a FACT. Season in, season out. Both clubs give away tickets as for the majority of your games too the ground is half full so unsure you can use that one!
Don’t worry about us. The glow of our FA cup win and the last ten years will last a decade to most of us. Most of us knew the bubble would burst eventually. Go and enjoy your northern scrubber sport in your jacamo clobber pal. Don’t forget to wipe that jiz off when you beat the mighty St Helens!
