On Novenmber 25th, Latics (then in the Cheshire League) dealt out what was considered a giant killing act in the first Round of the Cup as they demolished their League opponents Carlisle United 6-1.
Armes and Roberts scored a brace each, whilst Scott and Robson scored the other two goals.
How times change eh?
it was a record score for a non-league team to win away at a league club not sure if it still stands.
Yeah it does. I think it’s a record win for a non-league club over a league club full stop, not just record away win.
