it shouldnt matter that much unless there is a massive amount of rain the pitch will be fresh enough to handle both games quite comfortably.

the new away date 16 april 2011 -isnt that easter weekend ?

Easter Sunday is 24th, apparently. Seems a bit late to me, but I wasn’t involved in the decision ;)

The statement added: “The board would like to put on record its thanks to both

Wigan Athletic FC and Wigan RL, whose flexibility in the circumstances has been extremely helpful.”

I can imagine RL Fans being like a scene from Apoplexy Now!

Who were they supposed to play and what is the proposed alternative?

Huddersfield I think. Last time this happened they apparently had to move their game to Widnes or summat daft like that.

It isn’t really fair on the rugby to switch their game but that’s one of the downsides of being a tennent.

Let’s be honest their fans are only interested in their two biggest regular season home games so the rest can be switched around with little fuss.

I can just picture the scene, a phone gets answered, “Hi can I speak to Maurice, it’s about a rugby game we need to play”
