13 July 2010 at 7:57 pm #39921”Its our ground, and the eggs are our tennants, of course the Latics take priority”
I remember Whelan stating this time last year that he was going to transfer ownership of the DW Stadium from Whelco to Latics but does anybody have any proof that this has actually happened yet?? Just coz Whelan has said it doesn’t mean that it has either happened yet or is ever going to happen as we know what comes out of his mouth isn’t exactly gospel at times
If he hasn’t got round to doing it yet, then Latics are as much tennants as the rugby but whilst we’re in the top flight its clear our fixture needs have priority
Nothings ever clear at Latics the way ownership of the club and stadium has been split.
That being said Lenegan did confirm stadium ownership had switched to Latics and the rugby lease had extended to 50 years at a fans forum.
The theory is Whelan will maximise his income by selling Latics and the stadium as one.
13 July 2010 at 10:00 pm #39926Once again a complete lack of awareness regarding the situation and the usual claims about wanting to support Latics.
That must be why the vast majority of rugby fans are amrchair Utd, Liverpool, Everton and City fans or in other words glory hunters.

What’ll really stink is if the Pathetics end up pulling the stunt during the playoffs.
We have flogged our guts out for all of this season to get in a prime spot to get the best advantage in the playoffs and we could end up having to surrender home advantage like we did in the playoff game against Bradford at Widnes.
We’re the ones getting the regular good attendances, yet we’re the ones having to roll over when the Primadonna League and Mr Whelan click their fingers.
Will we get a reverse fixture from the Pathetics if we do well with the playoffs… by that deafening silence, I assume not. According to the Pathetics fixture list, we could conceivably lose home advantage two rounds on the bounce or have our games moved due to them playing Sunderland and Manchester City at home.
Our fixture list has been in the public domain since late last year!!! There is no reason whatsoever that Whelan should be playing the “I didn’t know” card – he should have discussed it with the Primadonna League and asked for a change round in the schedule as soon as the computer selected the fixtures.
Sooner they get relegated, the better!!!
Hey, Salsa, have yerself a tenner on both Latics and Blackpool falling spectacularly into the championship at the end of April 2011 with a couple of games to go.
I have always wanted to like Wigan’s football team but I find it very difficult due to their arrogance.
13 July 2010 at 10:14 pm #39928They do finally seem to realise where they stand though.
13 July 2010 at 10:18 pm #39929Im trying to find wigan warriors fan,s but amazingly they have all disappeared…….

13 July 2010 at 11:35 pm #39934I suspect the much fabled transfer of ownership paperwork has been locked away in the much fabled war chest.
Neither has seen the light of day.
Both of these things may well be fables. What is not in doubt is that every time Latics want the rugby to move a fixture, they move. Therefore, whatever its source, it is clear that Latics do exert control over the rugby in terms of fixture priority.[/quote]
Call me old fashioned Griff but I mentioned it earlier. It’s called “Primacy of Tenure”….allowing us ‘The Latics’ to control our ability to meet our fixture list and accommodate any necessary changes to fixtures. – We have first call and tenants have to do as they’re told.

You know, making him question why, if there is no legal basis why this keeps happening, does it simply keep happening?

Sorry fella…didn’t see what you were doing there.
I normally like to keep them going by asking them to check whether the light goes out when the fridge door closes…………….keeps some of them going for days.
…….and they still get it wrong

Similar thread on the COCKlatics forum, is highly amusing.
Nice to see that the dozen or so numpties that constitute all their forum posters, are still totally obsessed by all things Cherry n White!!
14 July 2010 at 4:06 am #39964This made me laugh…..”Just how long do you think such a garbage team, with no support can keep riding their luck in the top league??”Maybe they should tell us, they’ve been doing it for roughly the last 10 years
It’s not as if they have a grip on reality when they come out with such comments when only last week less than 12k home fans turned up to see their top of the table team.
It seems turning up in reasonable numbers for a couple of home games per season and pedalling the anti Latics crap is enough for them but it doesn’t cut it with everyone else.
