Just awesome. Took the possession and had Southampton chasing shadows. That is as good a win you will see. What a 1st half/2nd half comparison, Thoroughly enjoyed watching that match.
25 August 2012 at 8:59 pm #92082it was a bit heart in mouth till we got the second but a great result

What a 1st half/2nd half comparison, Thoroughly enjoyed watching that match.Agree, was a great second half display. Only thing that worried me was set pieces. Habsi was worth a goal in the first half.
To top a good day of Dicko scored the last for a 6-0 win for Blackpool.
25 August 2012 at 10:00 pm #92086Positives :
– Great result (result > performance (off the mark !!)
– Clean sheet in last 172 mins (little lady luck and fine goalkeeping)
– Both Di Santo and Kone (1st full game in Premier) in the goals
– Beausejour back (squad getting back to full strength)
– Still time for reinforcement before window closes
AND
to round off a good day, …..Rodders did Rooney at Old Trafford today and has probably put him out the United game on 15th.
HUGO, HUGO, ….. :cheer: :cheer:
25 August 2012 at 10:09 pm #92087I’m just glad RVP got off the mark today otherwise you just know what would have happened. :woohoo:
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!25 August 2012 at 10:19 pm #92088GREAT EXPECTATIONS
Old Trafford the only place where we’ve yet to do anything….
Rooney out(assumes no miraculous Ferguson recovery), makeshift back four, the Latics carrying last years form into this ……
Isn’t it about time we were ‘party poopers'(OK, … settle for point) ?
Win against Stoke (not easy) and we go there full of confidence.
Blackburn did ’em last year, why not Wigan this ?
COME ON LATICS !!!!!!!!! :cheer:
25 August 2012 at 10:46 pm #92092I must say the balance of our side now and the back end of last season is great and Kone looks like the real deal for me.To fit right in and his pace is electric well done to that man and RM for signing him.

On that performance we should (ahem), Bounce Stoke. As long as we defend the high ball it could (should) be a cricket score. On the back of today’s performance my prediction league score may creep up to 4-0. Just see how malicious i feel later on in the week.
Couldn’t be arsed deleting all that but i have just realised that i did next week’s predictions last week after a few light ale’s :P :P :P :P :P :P
26 August 2012 at 1:31 am #92096At least Kone didn’t fanny about and popped it in the onion bag !!!
26 August 2012 at 3:18 pm #92119Great performance man of the match (imo) Ali made some brilliant saves.Steady Nigel predicted his team would win and they were given a lesson in Premier league football by a team that came and outclassed them!
The Martinez master plan is coming to fruition after 3 seasons and i think we will avoid a relegation battle this year without a doubt.I think a top ten finish is a real possibility.
Just hope we dont get any more vultures sniffing about before the window closes.
Very proud!26 August 2012 at 4:20 pm #92124As one of the proud 800 that made the journey im afraid to say Kone was certainly not MOTM material. Held ball well, didn’t work particularly hard but was a real presence. Up until goal looked edgy in front of goal and had couple of clear cut chances second half. He looks promising but believe me when you watched his workrate throughout the game he was miles behind Franco (who apart from the goal had his worst game for a while). Man of the match for me was undoubtedly Maloney. Most of our better play came through him and as many have posted the new lad Ramis looked solid. As usual Boyce and the two Jimmy Macs put In a decent shift.
This year there are some teams in the league who look quality like Everton and Swansea and thought its early I think the games between those at the bottom of the table will be vital. Norwich, Reading, QPR and West Ham look average but after that i dont see many weak teams. It may be yesterday we played the worst team in the league so I’ll reserve comment on a possible top 10 finish as other teams look strong. At the end of September we will have a good idea of our potential. In Bobby we trust!

West Ham look a bad side -they made Swansea look like Barcelona.Good points but i think a relegation battle is not not going to happen this year.Stoke,Norwich West Ham ,Southampton,QPR and Villa for me
