i think dowds grudge was with jewell not the club its self
A few people said Dowd hasn’t been bad lately, I’m sure in his last game for us he did something outrageous but I can’t remember who it was against, think he gave a pen that never was or something, I just don’t like the man, ego far too big.
I actually can’t name a good ref, but Rob Styles is particularly awful, so is/was Urriah Rennie. And how the FA give all the big games to Howard Webb I’ll never know.
I am now convinced that aceface is clueless about everything.you really have a problem with other peoples views,dowd has reffed well this season compared to past seasons for us chelsea at home and liverpool at anfield where bad finishing let us down just to name to games.Anyway its gone 7 and you should be in bed with your noddy book, night night
I have a friend who is a referee that many on here will know.
His view was always “call me incompetent, and I’ll (grudgingly) accept it – call me a cheat and you’re off”.
With professional footballers being paid thousands a week, there is a culture of cheating, whinging etc going on.
Referees (and I will shout abuse as soon as the next man – and to be honest if you’re in E7 you will know the “next man”) are only human. Thay make decisions on the spare of the moment, under TV scrutiny, with mega-stars screaming and yelling at them.
Paying them more isn’t going to help them make decisions. But the FA supporting any abuse of referees may help. I hate to mention other sports, particularly THAT one, but you know what I mean. Even in RU the players often call the referee “Sir”.
Don’t blame the referees. Blame the culture we have created.

Speaking of refs, has anyone realised that the authorities now given the green light for all players to dive and deliberately con refs. I say that, because Martin Olsson apparently admitted he would take a dive if he got the chance because Mike Dean has given more pens than any other PL ref….yet the Premier League and/or FA have done nothing, when they should have given him a 5 game ban for bringing the game into disrepute.
