You obviously wanted him because you’ve paid very good money for him.What can you expect from him as a manager?
He’ll take time to settle. In fact being honest he took some time to settle at fratton. Our club was run by the PST (Pompey supporters trust) headed by McGinnes and Caitlin, both spectacularly good men. They run our club under tight infrastructure and what has been achieved under them in 4years is miraculous.

He plays possession football and it works well AWAY from home. At home you will go games where you won’t have a shot in anger. Don’t believe check our stats at home vs Crewe.
If you score first it helps but if you concede it’s hard to get it back and we regularly lost at home to teams who should have been put away.
When he does change it in desperation you hoof it long with a target man. Expect smith from Northampton to join you.
Away from home he is very good and we have scored plenty.

Yet they were the divisions highest scorers at home.Yep – top scorers at home & 2nd highest scorers in the division overall & the fella says their tactics didn’t work at home???? All because in 1 game they failed to register a shot on target.
I remember when Latics walked League 1 under Jewell – it was great stuff but we had the odd game like Port Vale & Plymouth at home where the opposition tactics worked in nullifying Latics & we lost 1-0 (possibly 2-1 against Vale).
It happens. From time to time a team will get its tactics spot on against you & you’ll lose. Just seems to me that this guy couldn’t hack the fact that a team as lowly as Crewe could dare to beat them.However he then seems to give Cook no credit whatsoever for realising he needed to switch his tactics about & play a more high tempo style

Defo sour grapes from him but interesting that our board have gone for exactly the same yet again.
Hope we have the types of players to make it work for him.At least it means two cracking grudge games with them next season and when you had the B factor (Bradford,Blackpool and Blackburn) then i am starting to look forward to next season already.
At least we wont have the bore fest that is the championship and the new appointment seems like the club has changed tack on this one.
They are not going to be too chuffed but at least it shows some ambition on our part however i am expecting a harder season than the last one and i would take a play off place this time around if i’m honest and some stability as well as more focus on the youth policy.
I just want to see some good football and players at the club who want to be there as well as a few wins.

In my experience it’s never the mods that cause the demise of a board it’s the contributors. Especially those that have to have an enemy.

Cockney Latic was always the best forum. It has outlasted every other and the pretenders that have been and gone since. Pity the influential posters like MickyC and Griff disappeared. Although they were good to banter with and argue with, they certainly put a good point across. I would say the same for Standish but i don’t wanna boost his ego ;) ;) :lol: I have never posted on any other one although i do read Vital too. I must admit though, there are quite a few spleens over there. Late teens early 20’s. You can see it a mile off.

Fuck the EFL
Back when CL was on rivals it was really good and easy access to all other clubs sites. Vital is shite.
