Will Grigg…fans favourite…dropped…sold.
Max Power…fans favourite…dropped…sold.
Dan Burn…fans favourite…dropped…sold.
Joe Gelhardt…fans big hope…dropped…?
Is this all coincidental, or does Cook seriously not like any player who becomes the pinnacle of attention? It seems so.
Is Paul Cook the David Brent of football managers?
27 December 2019 at 5:21 am #183312Will Grigg – Poor record in championship. In decline as has been seen at Sunderland. Received 3.5 million. Robbery.
Power – Again poor in championship. Not done much since.
Dan Burn- Great for us. Wanted Premier League football. Received good money.
Joe Gelhardt – Good prospect. 17 years of age. Scored one good goal. Not done much else to be fans ‘big hope’ as you say. Like local lads to come off bench but hasn’t looked up to starting. Patience required.

It is well reported that we had no wish whatsoever to sell Will Grigg, and his absence followed time out with an injury, and also he wasn’t banging the goals in at Championship level. Ultimately Sunderland offered silly money for him.
Max Power signed a three year contract in July 2015 and signed for Sunderland as a free agent in August 2018. He played 40 League games in 2017-2018, so hadn’t been dropped.
Dan Burn signed for Brighton but was then loaned back to us. It again was well reported that he wanted a chance at Premier League football, which he is now enjoying. I don’t think that letting a player go, who was 3 years into a 4 year contract but was loaned back to us for 6 months, to play at a higher level is unreasonable.
27 December 2019 at 11:35 am #183315Burn was also injured and then returned to play right up to leaving.
What colour is the sky on your planet vat?

Yeah, because compared to the current bunch of world beaters we have, they were really terrible, werent they?

27 December 2019 at 2:13 pm #183333Joe Garner scores more goals at this level than Will Grigg
Lee Evans is better than Max Power
Dan Burn we had no choice
Gelhardt will get his chance, but not many 17 year olds crack it at this level due to its physicality
If we were picking a team based on whether the fans liked them or not we’d be in serious trouble.
