Roberto Martinez has hinted that he will hand opportunity’s to those players who have not yet featured in the two Barclays Premier League games so far with the likes of Callum McManaman and Fraser Fyvie expected to start the game.
“It’s a great opportunity to share the demands,” said Martinez.
“You’ve got a few players that have been working really well in pre-season and they’ve have no reward yet and I think it’s important that everyone is ready.
“It’s an opportunity for some other players to show what they can do and show that they can have massive say this season.”
Hopefully we can get the win after the weekend…Maybe play a starting XI that can win the game…Unlike previous years!

not taking it seriously then as usual, another chance for the media to have a pop if we loose
Roberto Martinez intends to rest some of his leading players but is not planning wholesale changes for his side’s Capital One Cup tie at Nottingham Forest.
The likes of David Jones, Ben Watson, Albert Crusat and Mauro Boselli could get starts while Gary Caldwell and James McCarthy are likely to be among those sitting it out.
Jean Beausejour made his return from a hamstring injury off the bench at Southampton at the weekend and could get another run-out.
This is a fantastic opportunity for some of the lads to show what they can do.
If Kone is to take permanent residence up on the right side it would be nice to see Boselli get a goal tonight and let Franco know he is ready and waiting to take his chances as they come.
Miyachi and Mcmanaman will hopefully start either side with both of them having relatively succesful half loan spells last season it would be nice to see them taking well to the formation and putting in solid performances.
The Midfield engine room I imagine will welcome young Fyvie for the first time and I’m sure everyone is as excited as me to see how our latest Scottish prodigy does but not sure who will play along side him.
Hopefully Beausajor can get some game time under his belt at LWB and provide some of the ammo for Mauro although it could possibly be Jones taking up this position.
I would imagine Stam at RWB but he does not seem the most favourable man in the squad these days.
The three CB’s could be any combination but I imagine it will likely feature Golobart and Lopez at some point.
With the way he played last week I would like to see Prince Ali out there on his own but there could possibly be a place for our current longest serving player and resident party boy Mr Pollit.
All in all im looking forward to seeing them all in action and im not really arsed if we stay in or go out but I would like to see an indication that these players will be ready should the opportunity come their way.
Going off my own asumption of players Crusat could be struggling to take part this season which is a shame really as I think he has alot to offer but obviously comes up trumps against the physical nature of the PL.
Wholesale changes tonight is a given but the squad players will hopefully put in a performance and win. It would be nice to get past the first game in a cup competition goodpost
No mugs Forest, so let’s not have a forum-wide bout of hysteria tomorrow if our second string fails to pull it off.
I’m with Salford on this – looking forward to seeing how they play and not too worried about the result, though it would of course be nice to progress.
