Sometimes, it doesnt pay to be a world-famous club:

Nasib sial justru melanda Wigan Athletic. Tim garapan Roberto Martinez itu tersingkir di babak ketiga dari tangan tim Divisi Dua, Swindon Town. The Latics menyerah 1-2 di County Ground, kandang Swindon.

He’s poking fun that the loss against Swindon was even reported in Indonesia.

However, all he’s really doing is proving that Wigan Athletic are read about and watched in places other than New South Wales and three counties in the UK.

Alternatively it could be seen that even the Indonesian Press see you as an “afterthought”, with a defeat to Swindon being written about at the very end of an article that discusses Fulham’s 4-0 win against Charlton and Stoke’s 3-1 win at Gillingham before it gets onto the Swindon v Wigan game.

Regularly last on Match of the Day. Last in a random Indonesian newspaper. When it comes to football, face it, you are an afterthought.

Or maybe they were just building up to it. Or maybe like a lot of eastern countries they write from right to left and bottom to top. I think this is your most desperate attempt yet.

I think I like the Warriors about as much as you like Latics, yet the only time I’ve ever felt the need to post on one of their forums was an RIP thread to Mike Gregory.

Just let go Mutty. You’ll feel better for it.

You say ‘afterthought’, and if you mean last news item, then yes you’re probably right. Our’s is the tenth report of ten games. Our’s probably is of less interest to the world than the other 19 teams in the Premier league.

However, it’s still international press and I’ve been searching on that particular site for the Super League news. Alas, there doesn’t seem to be any.

Yes Wigan Athletic are regularly last on match of the day, unless they are playing one of the bigger clubs. Win or lose however, they still feature on a BBC 1 programme that is broadcast to the nation on a Saturday night.

The Super League show, by contrast, is aired on a Sunday night and at half four on a Monday morning, again on BBC 1, but only to the North, North West and North East regions.

Don’t keep kicking yourself up the arse. I’m starting to feel sorry for you now.

Nah. Man City are. It just happens to be at the DW. If the foreign TV stations could airbrush the 11 Wigan players out of the game, they probably would.

Hopefully a worldwide audience wont be watching 3 sides of the ground full of empty seats.

make sure you get more than 13k (multiple times last season) for a home match b 4 entering this subject…..another bitter/jealous rugger yorky man. IF THEY COULD GO BACK TO THE 80’S THEY PROBABLY WOULD

Isn’t the point though that no matter how many are actually in the stadium, a “worldwide audience” (to quote you) will be watching the Latics.

When was the last time a “worldwide audience” watched rugby league. Not just Wigan Warriors, but ANY rugby league?
