Nah. Man City are. It just happens to be at the DW. If the foreign TV stations could airbrush the 11 Wigan players out of the game, they probably would.Hopefully a worldwide audience wont be watching 3 sides of the ground full of empty seats.
Oh how desperate is this mon
13 January 2012 at 3:27 am #78016When was the last time a “worldwide audience” watched rugby league. Not just Wigan Warriors, but ANY rugby league? The state of origin is regularly shown worldwide.

But how many people actually bothered to watch or even understand it??????
can’t see it taking off eggmon, pity they have to rely on the only game that matters in rugger league. After that what is there really???????
13 January 2012 at 10:57 am #78032But how many people actually bothered to watch or even understand it??????I wouldn’t know. How many people who watch football don’t know the offside rule?
13 January 2012 at 11:33 am #78033Face it Egg, these people dont want to have a reasoned debate, based on facts, preferring to live in their Eutopian World. Even our bus-driving mod resorts to changing posts to suit his own agenda.
In fact, he’s on now, so you’ll probably not even get to see this post in its present format – it’ll probably look more like:
“I Hate the Warriors” 300 times!
13 January 2012 at 2:05 pm #78045There are numerous TV channels that cover rugby league around the world:
http://www.nrl.com/NRLHQ/ReferenceCentre/InternationalBroadcastInformation/tabid/10443/Default.aspx
Let’s be honest about it though, it caters for Aussie ex-pats, and the odd curious chance viewer – similar to the Gaelic Football final being shown on British TV.
Yes, there are football fans who don’t understand the offside rule but what does that matter? I played both codes of rugby until I was in my early twenties, and there were numerous laws in both codes that I never bothered to understand.
The difference is even in places like Kenya and the Caribbean, large numbers of people take time out of their day to watch Premier League football. I know this because I’ve watched Bolton v Sunderland in a bar in Kenya and Liverpool v Newcastle in a bar in St Kitts. In both instances I’ve been one of only a handful of Europeans. If you went into places like this and asked if they had the Rugby League on I’m sure you’d be greeted with a blank expression.
13 January 2012 at 2:32 pm #78047I was once talking to these Tunisian guys on holiday about football and I thought I would get my ” By the way its not a rugby town ” in quickly but I was slightly amused when they all said in unison ” What is this rugby you speak of ” !!! ha ha ha
20 January 2012 at 6:23 pm #78736Glad to see that Wigan hero and captain Sean O’loughlin was honoured in his testimonial game last night by a massive turn-out of 5,652 loyal fans.
Mind you, the club obviously thought so highly of him that they fielded an “inexperienced side” plus Kris Radlinski.
20 January 2012 at 10:44 pm #78753While we are bring up the understanding of the offside rule lets discuss another one.
As you say some people dont know the offside rule, but most football supporters fans do, the problem with it is, the world governing body FIFA make the rule confusing for some reason.
Now then we have cleared that up and perhaps agreed some people don’t fully understand it, can we move on to this one
How can a team lose a match in a knockout competition(not a 2 leg tie)and not be out of the tournament as happens in the sillyleague play offs ?
as said earlier some dont understand the offside rule, what I am convinced of – nobody understands this rule.21 January 2012 at 2:06 am #78762Anonymous
