You’re about right with that one, Vat man.
Rumoured yesterday that Blackburn have had a £3.5m bid turned down. I guess that just gets the ball rolling; with plenty time left to whip up some more interest.
Interestingly, on the way home I was tuned into radio Lancashire and the post match inquest declared that they need a No 10 in the transfer window26 January 2025 at 3:06 pm #204907Have to disagree about Rovers. Similar to Stoke another mid table mediocre side.Rovers could “sooner rather than later”be the next club with serious financial issues. Already £240 million(and rising) in debt and the Venkys rumour has it are considering their future ownership due to various financial legislation changes at home. The lad deserves a big move so hopefully our owner will hang on till summer and NOT let him go on the cheap. 3.5 mill taking the pee…..Rovers wouldn’t let Szmodics or Wharton go for peanuts so if that figure true hope we told them to f### off……cheeky brothers of Bolton. .
26 January 2025 at 4:30 pm #204908Heard rumours Swansea are in the mix, dear me Thelo what a graveyard move that would be !
Stay put till summer with hopefully 15/20 league 1 goals under your belt.
Be a better move surely by then.27 January 2025 at 7:11 am #204912He’s been very very quite in the last couple of games. I’m not sure if it’s our tactics to hammer Hungbo till his arse falls off or he’s like Lang and he needs a change, a new challenge and his minds on were he’ll be in the next few weeks.
Saturdays game was a much needed 3 points and a well deserved one. Nothing to write home about, nothing fancy but I suppose in our case our home performances are bland boring nothing to write home about.
I suppose it’s all about getting the points any which way we can because we all know, were far more dangerous daring and entertaining away.
Now the burning question, will Maloney keep Carragher in the middle or move out wide ?. He has a choice because will he be prepared to drop either Aimson or Sibbick, which ?.
I thought Carraghers distribution was outstanding. No Harry Maguire rolling the ball out with his studs his decision making was done asap no faffing around and then to round it off with a goal and a clean sheet ?.
Aimson’s made too too many costly blunders of late and if were to eventually become self sufficient then the likes of Carragher need to play more, not all the time granted but def more minutes.
Finally, it’s not looking good for McManaman. Its looking like he’s out of favour these days and I think this might be the last season we see him at the club.28 January 2025 at 12:57 pm #204919https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/wigan-athletic-star-set-for-switch-to-luton-town-4963891
If he doesn’t play tonight then it’s true!
Fuck the EFL
28 January 2025 at 1:37 pm #204920Seems like Luton have met his £3million release clause he’s off for a medical.
Reach for the stars Thelo
Not……..
28 January 2025 at 3:12 pm #204921Really.??Luton ???..Could be back in league 1 next season. Can’t fathom why he would even contemplate that move. Surely waiting till summer would see potentially more ambitious career moves develop. 3 million?? Who the f### negotiated these pittance of clauses ? Bet tickles is same. Based on our sales and transfers must have most incompetent recruitment team in Europe, and a zero (football wise) ambitious owner too.
28 January 2025 at 3:15 pm #204922Apparently already have someone lined up to replace him. Olakigbe gone so guarantee it’s another loan deal. Shambolic.
28 January 2025 at 3:20 pm #204923Preston have had a bid for Tickle turned down as well.
We could end up with no Aasgaard and also having Andy Lonergan as our first choice keeper at 41 years of age. He’s not played a game for 2 years.
If this happens…shambles.
But wouldn’t surprise me.
28 January 2025 at 4:30 pm #204924It’s simply Aasgaards decision…..he can choose to stay and wait. Unless he’s completely pissed off with the running of the club and just wants to get out of Dodge. Can’t blame him if I’m truthful. Was hoping Lutons interest would start a bidding bun fight, but more likely Danson wants a cash return 1st and foremost so probably deadbolt the door behind him as he left for negotiations…..I try never miss a game at home and have done quite a few away but thinking about sacking Saturday off. The football on offer is dreadful,w### ambition signings,w### ambition sales..pointless continual loan deals…the dreary uninviting stadium and match day experience etc struggling to get me there so no F####### chance of persuading day tripper supporters to come on down. Really starting to lose that “my club” passion I’ve always had…..Danson may have rescued us but in 18 months done nothing to regenerate that feeling of unity and us against the odds that was so prevalent in all the 50 year I’ve supported us. He may own us but he doesn’t appreciate the emotional input during our lives that we invest in our club….you can’t buy that or put a price on it……then again he’d F####### try !!!!!….Club feels like a carcass being picked apart.
28 January 2025 at 5:18 pm #204925I think we all could see huge potential over the past few years and like Lang there’d be a time when he’d leave.
To be fair he could have easily left for nothing we he re-signed till 2028 but he stayed as long as the clause was added basically meaning he could leave when activated and we’d get something rather than nothing for him. What I don’t understand is, why now ? and why a struggling Luton. Surely his best option would have been seeing the next few months out then raincheck in the summer when there would be clubs going up coming down and any half decent agent could find him a better option.
The only thing I can think of is
££££££££££
Luton still have money from the parachute payments and if Aasgaard can go in there and score and create few valuable goals that keeps them in the Championship then it’s £3million quid well spent. My biggest fear is the Preston bid for Tickle. Aasgaard we can shifty a few round but Tickle right now is irreplaceable.
If we were to loss both I’m afraid it just highlights the lack of any ambition from those in power. There’s taking the p!ss and theres having the p!ss ripped clean out of you so let’s hope it’s only Aasgaard who leaves and good luck to the lad he’s played at this club through hell fire times he deserves better
I said the other day Aasgaard wasn’t in the game against Bristol Rovers and the game before. No doubt both him and the club knew about this move was about to happen you could see he wasn’t with it.
But Thelo, come on, seriously ? Luton ? Jesus lad. If they were mid table I’d give you that one but 2nd from the bottom ?
Jumping from the frying pan into the fire comes to mind28 January 2025 at 5:29 pm #204928Don’t know if you picked up on it; on Saturday’s post match comments.
SM mentioned for a nano-second that he knows what Dale and Will can do together as a front two pairing.
So we are about to see that tonight as Thelo is yet another bargain basement give away.I’ve just about had it with the “invisible man” (Dansen) orchestrating the fire sale !
Then to top it, our Knob End neighbours are trying to get in on the act.
No bloody ambition left in our club

Totally agree.
It’s all the reason I didn’t renew in the summer. The club is just ticking along and despite what they put out every now and again at forums and things like that, I don’t see any ambition whatsoever. In Administration, we ended up with a valueless squad.
With Aasgaard going and maybe Tickle as well, that’s our two assets that’s worth anything, gone. The rest are a mish mash of freebies and loans. Not much value at all left. And not much coming through the youth ranks, either. Luke Brennan was highly rated and you know where he is at now? Buxton.
People have mentioned ‘asset stripping’. So far this season, we’ve lost Charlie Hughes and Josh Stones. We are likely losing Aasgaard and maybe Tickle as well. Is it asset stripping? It’s hard to say it isn’t.
The old club we knew and loved, has gone. This isn’t the same club, we are existing and nothing else. It’s shite. Fans are dropping off massively and it’ll only get worse and worse. Can’t blame anyone.
28 January 2025 at 8:23 pm #204930Work nights so going in late to watch game. 30 mins enough M6 here I come. Absolutely w###……some of the worst signings in 1 season ever. Clubis in a f###### state ..top to bottom!!!!!
28 January 2025 at 8:36 pm #204931Absolute garbage, so far !
