      Anyone But Coyle…………………

If the morning papers are to be believed there is now a 50/50 between Coyle and Mclaren.

This mon cannot be allowed to manage our club, horrible jock/noblot oink. Can’t stand the fella.
If the club do read these websites and this fella is in the running do us a favour and feck him off.

Must say he wouldn’t be my choice either, but whoever DW picks we have to go with his choice and back the new Manager. After all DW is charged with running our club the best way he can, with the immediate aim of getting us back in the Premier league. Should it not work out DW can’t blame anyone else but himself.

Like I said on another thread…
Well in Coyle’s defense, unlike Martinez, ( Think Henriquez ) he took 2 young lads on loan and in my opinion helped them massively to develop by giving them much needed playing time. 2009-2010 season saw Jack Wilshere join Bolton on loan and the following season saw Daniel Sturridge join them on loan ! Also, Coyle is not a hoof ball merchant, if anything he likes his sides to actually play football. Ironically like Martinez, he didn’t really have the players to pull it off ! He has taken a side from the Championship to the Prem and so he has the knowhow and for me would be an ideal candidate ! Sometimes we make hasty decisions based on how our hearts feel but when you let your head take over and just sit back and think for a while, things do become more lucid ! Get him signed Uncle Dave !

Not my choice particularly but he has a track record of success in the Championship.

If he lands the job in competition with other big names then he’ll do for me. There must be something to him.

But as I posted elsewhere – how does he now become bookie’s favourite? Interviews are ongoing. If DW was touting someone outside of an interview process then rumour may have some basis. But we are in an interview process – all would appear from the outside to have an equal chance. It depends how they do at interview. This is all bookie/press speculation to counter DW’s unusually keeping this close to his chest.

I think he has become the bookies favourite because they think McClaren will want higher wages than Whelan will be prepared to pay, I hope Whelan will pick McClaren and they can reach an understanding on wages linked into bonuses if he gets us up or something .

He became the bookies’ favourite because Joe Public is backing him.

Most of the people placing these bets have as much influence or inside knowledge as me or you as to who will get the job.

              Campaign going well then?

How anyone can give this fella the time of day, let alone consider him to manage Wigan Athletic is beyond me. All I can see is his sneering shrivelled up face doing post match interviews.

Hopefully I can turn some of you round when I point out you’re agreeing with filmoss if you’d accept him home like a lost brother.

Get Wally in if it’s between the two of them.

You’ve got a point Phil, but both Wilshere and Sturridge were more advanced in their development than Sinclair when he was here and certainly more developed than Henriquez. Still begs the question why bring them if you’re not going to play them, but I don’t think you’re quite comparing apples with apples.

Henriquez shown at Macclesfield he wasnt anywhere near ready for Premier League football.

              #115992

We won’t be playing Premier League football

              #115994

And he could be back with us in the Championship next season…

I still wouldnt be eager to make him the first name on the teamsheet as Mr Moss seems to think every loan signing should be but he obviously has potential.

I like the idea of playing Kone and Boselli up front together next season as part of a front 2 and I think Henriquez would be good cover for that.

McClaren odds on now with Coyle drifting slightly, Muelensteen making a little come back, come on Stevie baby, show daddy the money :-)

I had an investment at 16’s on Robinson and certainly wouldn’t exclude him from the race just yet.
