I swear if someone had given me a free in play bet I’d have had us to win. We were banging on the door for an equaliser and it was just a matter of time. Birmingham barely got out of their half for the first 15 mins of the second half and the first time they did, they got their third soft goal. Shoulders dropped everywhere and the game petered out.
The opening 15 minutes saw us sink to new lows with pub league defending giving away a two goal lead. McLean single handedly took it upon himself to take Birmingham on and got us back in it with a top corner screamer. Too much sideways and backwards passing (as usual) stifled any real onslaught but by half time the ship was steadied.
We looked a different team in the second half with zip and urgency and Birmingham were struggling to answer us. McLean was playing like a man possessed and Waghorn was making his presence felt. Their keeper made two or three top drawer saves and it just seemed a matter of time until that breakaway goal put the game beyond reach.
McLean man of the match by a distance with decent performances from Forshaw, Perch and Waghorn.
We are really struggling and I don’t, like everyone else, know where our next point is coming from. We are creaky at the back and that’s as much of a problem as our inability to score. The first two goals were as bad as anything we’ve conceded all season.

10 January 2015 at 11:56 pm #13817590 Minutes in a game though, not 15 mins. ;)

11 January 2015 at 12:07 am #138178Like Bolton last week and Rotherham a couple of weeks earlier, it’s no point stepping up when your giving the opposition a head start. The team need to be at it from first to last whistle. Baffling selections, negative tactics and shit attitudes of most of the team have created a situation that is going to be very hard to turn around.
11 January 2015 at 12:11 am #138179This next week is important in the window i know everyone is down but i dont think we r a million miles awayWe are not a million miles away ,we are only a few miles away from sinking back into the lower reaches of the game after all the hard work getting where we are now.
As for the transfer market well it’s always leave it till the very last minute however by then we could be many points adrift at the bottom of the table as even Blackpool have started picking points up now so I agree now is the time for action,I won’t be holding my breath!!
I agree with another poster who said we will get another article in the local paper on Friday night from one of our ‘superstars’ saying how the next game is the big one and we will start winning tomorrow.
As Apollo Creed said to Rocky
There is no Tomorrow!!!!!11 January 2015 at 12:36 am #138180Now the transfer market is another thing. There has been talk on here for weeks linking many players with other clubs and its looking like certain players are not wanted or needed by this Malky bloke. In that case why are all the negotiations not done and new players at the club at the beginning of January. Up to now we have brought a defender in to get himself fit for his new season elsewhere.
11 January 2015 at 1:07 am #138183I think one of the most frustrating things is that we have these spells in games but are always chasing the game when we do. We showed against Birmingham at home and Leeds that if we come out all guns blazing we’re dangerous.
Looking less and less like a coincidence that the Leeds display was due to the players being hit financially.
11 January 2015 at 2:51 am #138187We get it right this month we will be ok just but dont expect signings what are going to get bums on seats the season was fcuked before we started believe me
11 January 2015 at 3:20 am #138189why are all the negotiations not done and new players at the club at the beginning of January. .Do you have the vaguest idea how this all works in the real world rather than on Championship Manager?
11 January 2015 at 3:28 am #138190Its takes time because of something/somebody called an agent
