That said, it’s good that working for Mr Whelan in the past has clearly instilled in you the value of economy and thrift when it come to saving on electricity costs

how do you think the season will pan out ?25 April 2012 at 6:28 pm #85956That said, it’s good that working for Mr Whelan in the past has clearly instilled in you the value of economy and thrift when it come to saving on electricity costsWhen we were in the lower divisions he used to complain if the floodlights went on too early (which in his view was if he could still vaguely see your hand in front of your face). If the ref asked for the lights on we’d suck air in through our teeth, rather like garages do when giving an estimate.
It was said (and I suspect maybe it was true) that he was driving past the stadium one evening and saw the lights on and stopped his car and went storming in to find out what was going on, as there were no matches scheduled.
They were filming a TV advert for JJB Sports.

how do you think the season will pan out ?I think we will get at least one more win – and it could come in any of the games, though ironically, I think we have more chance of getting it against Newcatsle than against Wolves.
It’s a nail-biter though.
I work with a Blackburn fan who is convinced they are down and a Bolton fan who felt the same – until last night.
I also work with a Preston fan and a Sheff Wed fan who have both us (39) and Villa (40) surviving, plus QPR or Blackburn, though they had them level on 37 points and hadn’t gone as far as goal difference.
For what that’s worth
25 April 2012 at 9:51 pm #85962I think we may need to finish above the Villa to survive as I reckon Bolton will be ok.My reckoning is Qpr will beat Stoke so if they lose to Chelsea and City we would need 4 points to better them coz of our poor goal difference. If Rovers beat us and lose to Spuds and Chelsea we only need a point to better them.Spuds are the problem here,at the min they dont look like they can beat anybody but if they get it reet Villa may struggle to get another point (Bicky,Albion despise Villa and will take immense pleasure from sending them down so to suggest they will throw the game is laughable).I really think we need to get 4 more points and we will be ok assuming Chelsea and Spuds dont implode against the others.
25 April 2012 at 10:13 pm #85964We are right back up to our necks in it, last game of the season squeeky bum time again :woohoo:
25 April 2012 at 11:41 pm #85965think we need two draws and a win, not bothered how we do it as long as we do.
25 April 2012 at 11:46 pm #85966Whatever people predict I would sooner be in our position than Blackburn or Bolton’s. B)
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!25 April 2012 at 11:55 pm #85967Whatever people predict I would sooner be in our position than Blackburn or Bolton’s. B)we have to be in the box seat having to play two teams below us. dont like the situation though, feel sick.
26 April 2012 at 12:08 am #85968We are right back up to our necks in it, last game of the season squeeky bum time again :woohoo:If it does go down to last game Hindley we need a few results to go our way beforehand
City to beat Utd or a draw thus keeping title up for grabs so City must beat QPR
Newcastle to drop points somewhere(hopefully v us) to leave Chelsea and Spuds still in with a shout of CL spot with wins against Rovers and Rangers
We are also the only team playing at home on the final day so whilst im brickin it big time as jr says we are in a better position than some.
27 April 2012 at 11:20 am #86021Feel Bolton are somewhat screwed.. Tough schedule left.
27 April 2012 at 8:53 pm #86046has much as i hate bowton i think they will escape quite easily
