Reminds me of a few years ago at the Emirates when I got talking to this lad who asked “where do Wigan play?” (remember this was in the Wigan end!). I said “Wigan”. “Where is that?” So I explain the usual near Manchester bit. “Oh I am a long-time supporter of Wigan. I am from Iceland”.

He then asked if it would be easy to get tickets to watch us play at home. I reassured him he’d be OK. :D

His banter was most likely well rehearsed. His insurance policy should he end up in conversation with somebody.

My daughters just told me that she bumped into the Danish lad int Jumping Jacks in the early hours. Apparently some lads who she knows dropped on him int Swan & Railway were he was staying and decided to show him the sights of Wigan.

I wonder if he’ll ever come back again.

Did you ask him how he got his ticket?
