I said “Wigan”. “Where is that?” So I explain the usual near Manchester bit. “Oh I am a long-time supporter of Wigan. I am from Iceland”.
He then asked if it would be easy to get tickets to watch us play at home. I reassured him he’d be OK. :D

His banter was most likely well rehearsed. His insurance policy should he end up in conversation with somebody.

16 May 2011 at 11:06 pm #65844My daughters just told me that she bumped into the Danish lad int Jumping Jacks in the early hours. Apparently some lads who she knows dropped on him int Swan & Railway were he was staying and decided to show him the sights of Wigan.
I wonder if he’ll ever come back again.
