I went down to Robin Park, walking from near Pemberton. It was fairly hard going, as whilst not being terribly slippy, it was deep and awkward underfoot.
The best road I saw was along the main road that goes past Pizza Hut, and even that was a dodgy, churned up mess.
The retail park was NOT packed. There were a few people here and there, and a few cars (I saw a 4×4 struggling, lol) but I think most people had stayed at home.
Underfoot, the only clear places were right outside of the shops. Apart from that, and in places like the gap between First Choice and JJB, a major walkway to the stadium, it was well up your shins. I had £100 hiking boots on (Catterpillar) and it was hard going.
Definitely right to postpone it. It would have been chaos.
I don’t think my missus is a liar why would she tell lies about shoppers at robin Park?. It depends on what time you went VAT. Just out of curiosity did you take care walking about and did you get home safe and sound?. I presume yes otherwise you would have mentioned it. Its not hard is it if you take your time.
There are countries who live in conditions like this for 9 months of the year FFS.
Swansea fans turned round by police so only 50 made Brammall Lane and that game was on so what the fook is that all about?
I reckon all Swansea fans that followed a certain route(s) would of been made to turn back because of the health & safety of driving on that route … leaving around 50 “Jacks” attending yesterday at Brammall Lane. ;)

The ammount of shoppers was like 9.30am on a Wed morning, as opposed to a Saturday afternoon. I was there between 1pm and 2pm. Prime time.
I very nearly fell a couple of times. And that was with big hiking boots on.
Mentioning other countries, I think that as a country as a whole, we need to start preparing better for this weather, as our winters are getting worse due to global warming and a changing economical environment. Its getting colder and colder each year.
I heard yesterday that European snowboarders are starting to come over here when it snows, as our artificial ski slopes are fantastic. Seriously. :D
From a football perspective,. all these cancellations will work towards giving people like Sepp Blatter further excuse to back their plans for a winter World Cup.
Maybe those who had got their wish and the match went ahead would of been the first on here complaining when a snowball hit one of their children in the mush

Honestly, it was right to postpone yesterday.[/quote]
Not a prayer that snowboarders will come over here as the cost and snow is better in 13 different countries in Europe.
Very bad example, before you get off on one, I have skiied and snowboarded for over 30 years and as much as I loved Aviemore (and Highfield Grange Road today), the UK is a long way from providing good SKIING/SNOWBOARDING facilities.
I was only going off what they said on TV the other day. There’s an artificial slope somewhere that has become very popular with real snow lying on it.

It’s 24 days between our last home match and our next so I can see why people were so eager to have the game played.
By the way …. Reserves match v Chelsea been called off.
