7 February 2011 at 2:15 am #58626Might be a nothing match….both going down.
I said yesterday, the best result from this game today, would be a draw. Either way, a victory was bad. Especially so Birmingham winning, I feel, given their games in hand as well. If they take advantage, and we go on a 3 game losing run, a gap could form, which would make the game with them at the DW, a REAL six-pointer.
Don’t you agree, Jay?
You are looking at things on paper and so why do you think we will do worse off that those around us? I personally hope (more than think) we will get a run of games together and that we will fare as well as if not better than some of the other runners.
I know it is far too early for this but:
West Ham – West Brom (a), Liverpool (h), Stoke (a), Spurs (h), Man U (a), Bolton (a), Villa (H), Chelsea (a), Man City (a), Rovers (h), Latics (a), Sunderland (h)
Brum – Stoke (h), Toon (a), Arse (a), West Brom (h), Everton (a), Latics (a), Bolton (h), Rovers (a), Sunderland(a), Liverpool (a), Wolves (h), Toon (a), Fulham (h), Spurs (a)
Wolves – Arse (a), West Brom (a), Blackpool (a), Spurs (h), Villa (h), Toon (a), Everton (h), Stoke (a), Fulham (a), Brum (a), West Brom (h), Rovers (a)

I am not deluded, I just support my team whether we are cack or exceptional.
If I wanted to support a team that wins League titles and FA Cups etc…. back in 1976 I would not have chosen Wigan Athletic would I :?: [/quote]
I think we will do worse than the teams around us for 2 reasons.
1. We are already well and truly in the mire.
and
2. We have been Barry White all season.
Surprised you’ve played the “loyal supporter” card with me, Jay. I too, am a LOYAL supporter. I’ve never stopped going. And I never said YOU were deluded. I asked if you agreed that the Birmingham game was a REAL ‘six pointer’? Do you, or don’t you?
Do you REALLY see us getting a run together, when we are playing Liverpool, United, and City next? Probably 3 defeats followed by a draw with Birmingham and then maybe about 2 points from the April games. That will be 29 points, followed by a point against West Ham and a defeat at Stoke on the last day.
30 points.
We are around 14 points from safety, with 14 games left. That is a fact.7 February 2011 at 2:31 am #5863030 points.

Ok, it was a typo.
Worse still, 12 games left. Not a chance will we get the points to stay up. We’ve 26 points, and need around 40 points. We have to play Liverpool, United, City, Chelsea, Spurs, and Everton. And the other games aren’t any easier.
Nah. Ain’t going to happen. April will see my point proved.

13 February 2011 at 2:59 am #59309Good point today when it wasn’t expected, looking at this I don’t see many of those above us making much progress over the next few games. :sad-roulette:

All bets will be off with VAT, now. Dr Jekyll’s back this week after his recent audience with our Forum Leader and Mr Hyde seems to be confined to barracks. Until he comes out again, of course -
