Uwe picked the same team that played Reading.

I thought that was what you wanted.

I agree horc except on Al Habsi where I put Nicholls and Carson ahead of him in his current form.

Is Ramis injured again?…I believe his absence is a massive reason why we havent already got the play offs wrapped up. There is no one else in defence whom is so comfortable on the ball and with passing skills. He could probably do a job in midfield if needed.

Coleman and Ramis type partnership up front could work better than Waghorn or Fortune or Powell or Maynard or Holt as lone strikers!

Despite the fact Ali has been superb since he came back in, has kept us in many a game and hasnt been at fault for any goal lets just drop him so the consistent starting 11 most crave on here can be cemented. Its not blind panic we need now but calm heads. If we can get into play offs anything can happen. QPR are hardly on fire and we have beaten all the other teams in contention in recent weeks.

If anybody speaks Arabic please tell Al Habsi that he is allowed to leave his six yard box and still handle the ball. Most keepers get better as they get older but not him.

Also I think Lee Nichols is better than him or Carson.

Which goals has Ali been culpable for? Which goals should he have left his 6 yard box for? Carsons dropped a good few clangers, Nichols may be decent but unfortunately for him his mistake got us knocked out of Europe. For those of us that go away you will remember the superb performances at Derby, Reading, Bolton and Brighton where Ali single handedly kept us in games. Now just cos Carson played well at Wembley he’s a world beater despite the fact that Ali hasnt made a mistake of note.

Both goals came from their right side so they must have suspected where our weak link was today.

I sense a search for a new scapegoat now that Gomez is recognised as a hero.

We know Beausejour isn’t a traditional full back. He found his true role under Martinez as a wing back, covering the wing and putting in good crosses. But he has filled a gap at left back this season.

It doesn’t help to play Espinoza in front of him. Roger runs all over the pitch, and can’t be guaranteed to be there in defence when help is needed.

Both goals did come from Blackpool’s right. For the first goal, Beausejour was tracking the man with the ball. The ball was passed back to the unmarked Isaiah Osbourne to cross for Keogh to score.

For the second goal, Keogh beat Barnett on the goal line and pulled the ball back for Dobbie to score.

So Beausejour was not to blame for either goal. Did Beausejour play well? Not particularly. Did the team play well? Not at all.

Beausejour played his part in the defeat of Reading. It would be wrong to blame him for yesterday’s defeat by Blackpool.

It’s not all about shot stopping its also about commanding the box and distributing the ball. You’ve just proved a point Bigroy that eveyone remembrers the great save but can’t recall the blunders that could have cost you a goal but didn’t.
We were 2-0 down yesterday yet Ali kicked the ball direct into touch at least 5 times in the last 15 mins or so. He stayed on his line on numerous occasions when it was easier and necessary for him to move a couple of yards and catch the ball. He has started this stupid two fisted punch save again when he should be clodding his cap on the ball and collecting it with ease.

He is without doubt one of the best shot stoppers in this league and even the prem in my view, however the rest of his game at times is shocking.

Ali consistently kicked the ball upfield to our three tiny forwards – Waghorn, McManaman and Maloney. They didn’t win many balls.

Was he following instructions or did Blackpool’s pressing game give him no choice?

Fortune has scored 5 in 47 appearances.

And thus lies the problem not whichever goaly we pick

                Rubbish.

For the first goal the forward came up behind him out jumped him and won the ball.

For the second he was out of position up the pitch – although Barnett should have been quicker but I suspect he thought the ball would go out of play and the winger beat him to it.

Thirdly Espinoza wasn’t playing in front of him it was Maloney.

Apart from that what you said was spot on !!! :)

How the hell does Ali get picked ahead of Scott Carson, he is a liability, every time he gets the ball he shits me up with his dithering about and his inability to kick the ball properly.

After his performance at Wembley why didn’t Crainey start a head of that useless Chilean at left back, and why did we waste the talents of Shaun Maloney on the left wing.

Careful Horc, you’ll have some self righteous no-mark narcissist type asking about what you know of the game, have you been to the training etc etc.

Personally, I would agree with you[/quote]

                Obsessed. Bless!

What a shame, I thought you’d actually done us all a favour and fucked off for good. It’s been quite pleasant round here lately.

50% of his kicks go out of play.
25% don’t even reach the halfway line.
12.5% go straight to an opposition midfielder/defender
12.5% go to our tiny forward who either doesn’t win it or when he does he tries to flick it on to his non existent strike partner.

I think what really bugs me is every time he receives the ball, or gets a goal kick, he plays it short to a defender just to ask for it back.
He then invariably dithers and just wellies it in a mad panic from no more than a couple of yards further forward in to touch.
If you are going to launch it, just launch it and don’t put yourself under unnecessary pressure with a forward bearing down on you, especially when your kicking is as bad as his.

                  #130363

                  I like him.

He’s been a lot better than last season.

His kicking is poor though and needs work.

Personally I’ve not much confidence in Carson i think he’s also poor on crosses and there’s always a mistake in him.

However it’s not the keeping position that bothers me it’s our problems up the other end.
