PS. His name is Alcaraz and he’s the one who has had paraguays only shot at goal!! ;)

    or

I knew, you knew is name was Alcatraz just thought it wasn’t worth giving it one sperm of acknowledgement.

    make your mind up !

Just played back the game and Duff has not been within 30m of Alcatraz [sp].

get that fault on your sky+ box fixed -when its done have a look at mid way through the first half, about 10 minutes before irelands second goal and you will see duff won a free kick on the edge of the box, during his run he glided past alcaras as though he wasnt there.

oh and the silence on who was at fault for the second goal is deafening

is that disease you quote anything like that
    ilovebobbythatmuchitcloudsmyjudgement syndrome ?

on the plus side his ball control and passing look very good, but to revert back to type by me, doyle has beaten him in the air every time.

LMB is your life so empty and dull that you have to resort to this sort of attention seeking.

This thread has actually highlighted the fact that you are deliberatly trying to dislike and disagree with anything the club do just to get the replys that you are getting , i suppose it substitutes for a real girlfriend in vying for your attentions.

      Get a grip.

      Get a grip.

has any of you ever considered that it could be i just want to spice this ever so mundane board up,do you not think that my responses on this thread is not a wind up.

my beef is and always has been those on here who blindly worship martinez and have done with statements like “hes wigan through and through” or “he loves this club” and then insult and demonise anyone who dares not to share that view or question his ability as you are doing with me now (suppose it substitutes for a real girlfriend in vying for your attentions.)you all seem to support him but never offer reasoned arguements on his failings to doubters like me,
martinez is here just the same as any of the other mercenaries we employ ,because its the best hes been offered to date, and if and when he is able to make the next step up he will be gone, now i dont personally think that will happen because i do think he will eventually be sacked and i aways have done.

now you accuse me of disliking and disagreeing with anything the club are doing, when it comes to martinez i agree whole hearted with that statement- but it does not stop me supporting everything else the club does – and that includes buying a season ticket every year despite knowing that i will miss upto 7 or 8 of the games due to other commitments,no one has ever heard me question anything else the club do regards brenda spencer/club shop/uncle mo/stadium names/not getting perks etc. etc. like many so called believers on here do on a regular basis,i am a realist who has been here warts and all for many years and will still be,hopefully, when all the custodians we have now are long forgotten.

        yes i did

did you doubt him after 4-1 blackpool, thrashed twice by notts county,5-0 twice v man u, 4-0 pompey and bolton,i wont even ask about the 9-1 or 8-0 disgraces or rolling over and giving up against asenal away or birmingham twice ,or everton or liverpool away

as i said before reasoned arguments not quoting flukes against arsenal or chelsea who both self destructed or beating the worst liverpool side i have ever seen during its lowest point of the season or a freak result in the first game of the season(watch the dvd villa had a nightmare in front of goal)

You do have to admit that LMB livens the place up from time to time. (nearly said he lights the place up, but then remembered, he’s darker than dark)

Loudmouth, you’ve said it a few times, that we beat the worst Liverpool team for decades, but, would you not agree that a vast majority of that team would still get into the Wigan team, and that they were fielding some truly world class internationals?

Poor by Liverpool standards though they may have been, it was still an achievement to beat them.

Now now Mr LMB, haven’t you learnt yet? You mustn’t let the facts cloud the essence of a good story.

I have read your posts over the season and have enjoyed the moment, with you, when you get the bite you seek…but I feel I must warn you that unless you start to toe the party line you risk censure – as I have on the grammar thread.

I suffer from the Martinez half full school of thought, and there we differ, however, without your counter opinion this board would indeed become boring.

Keep it up – some of the things you say make me think twice (sometimes) ;)

you along with many others have me slightly wrong standish i am only on the dark side regarding martinez, and i honestly believe we are on the road to ruin if he is allowed to continue.
i like being in the big league and want to stay here ,some say lets get back to lower league honesty ,well that is rubbish,on a purely selfish basis in this division i can watch latics every week, wherever i am in this country or worldwide if i cant get to a live game,
if we go down we will get 5 minutes a week on some magazine highlights show, frig me we get poor enouh coverage on MOD now.

and yes it was a massive achievement to beat all of the top teams we did this year and along with many latics highs over the years i will always remember them and i like everyone else want more,
it does not gloss over the fact that this season apart from perhaps those 4 games it has been abysmal and i have seen some of the worse football we have ever played in the premiership and that has been down to one man,
now i know that the believers will come back quoting bruce and long ball stuff, but can anyone honestly tell me the 20 sideway slow passes and diagonal hoof into touch was pleasing on the eye and it was not isolated it was every game ,
bruce did overdo the hoof stuff on occasions but we also played some of the best football any latics team ever has pre xmas last year, he is not the demon that some of the martinez faithful portray him , but he had a method to keep us well clear of the bottom and that was his brief from whelan and alot to do with how we played at times and ultimately why he left.

i want my club to be the best it can possibly be and under martinez i dont think it can be.

Loudmouth, a lot of what I say to you is in jest, as I do tend to agree with many of the things you post. I don’t hate Steve Bruce. I actually thought he was damn fine manager, and although he did tend to rely on the long-ball too much, there was the odd glimpse of good football here and there.

Where we don’t agree is on the subject of Martinez, and I don’t think we ever will. Although, if results are poor again next season, I will take my hat off to you, bow, and admit that your premonition at the St Mirren game last season was a divine insight.

did he play centreback? and how was he in the air.

he played on the left side of a back three, truthfully irrespective of what i said earlier -he was at fault for the second goal, and for me not covering enough for the first one but that was santa cruz’s fault,
he was beaten in the air by doyle alot from long balls but defended corner / free kick high cross balls quite well, his ball control was awesome when he had it and his passing was simple and blooming good if im being honest, he looks a proper footballer,
he didnt make a great number of tackles but cut out alot with his reading of the game on last nights display i couldn’t tell if he has any pace but if you read the game as well as i thought he did you can get a way with that.

the million dollar question can he do a job in the league for us -on what i saw last night he looks no worse than any we have in defence at the moment and better than some.

do you think i could apply for bensons role as central/south american chief scout, based somewhere in the florida keys ?
