Said on SSN today…. Alcaraz could snub us and move away to maybe Italy,Spain or Germany…He said he wants the best for him and after his performance at the World Cup…The 27-year-old defender admitted that although he signed a pre-contract with Wigan he is now considering his options.
I think that this is wrong on his part simply because he would play better for us than maybe anyone else
8 July 2010 at 12:37 pm #39437I imagine this could have some truth and it would be gutting if he didnt come !
8 July 2010 at 12:40 pm #39438I hate players that do the pre-contract signing it happened with local Irish side Glentoran that Rory Patterson signed for them from Coleraine and then he joined Plymouth..
8 July 2010 at 12:42 pm #39439He can’t squirm out of the contract he has already signed so he is trying to get as much money as he can from Big Dave.
8 July 2010 at 1:10 pm #39444If he doesn’t want to sign for us we really can’t force him
8 July 2010 at 1:24 pm #39448It’ll just be the media trying to create a story, things are a bit quiet at the moment.
8 July 2010 at 1:29 pm #39449the bloke was lucky to even be in the paraguay squad,he couldnt beleive it when he was actually starting..now after a few good games he’s coming johnny ten men.i say let him go!! last think we need is a sulky foreigner..
8 July 2010 at 1:46 pm #39450I reckon this has got some substance to it.
Which is annoying, and frustrating, as Roberto was on telly the other night talking up the fact that we had ‘signed him’.
If he doesn’t come after all, it just show’s Roberto to be very naive.
And short at the back, as Bramble is injured, and Douglas Bader is out until October.
8 July 2010 at 2:48 pm #39458made my decision no season ticket again this year if its true ,not the clubs fault i know, but football is a p i s s take ,ill stick to watching when i can in pubs if i can be arsed .
8 July 2010 at 3:01 pm #39462dont know if there is any truth in this, but i just text a mate and i got a reply that he wants to join his mates at sunderland ,bet that fooking benson as something to do with it .
8 July 2010 at 3:11 pm #39465Bit harsh, putting the blame on Benson!
8 July 2010 at 4:03 pm #39468seriously though, from what i saw of him looked ok when he had plenty of time on the ball, but in the prem he would not get that, and i dont think he would cope, might be a good thing him not coming.

Blimey O’Riley!!
So I’m assuming then that this pre-contract agreement was basically….
The player shall’t have the security of a 3 year contract at Wigan Athletic if he should turn out to be complete and utter tripe at The World Cup. However, should The Player have a half decent performance then he shall’t have the right to put two fingers up to the club and laugh his tats off at them.
Funny old game!!
Ha ha!!

Thanks.
