In line with UEFA regulations, there will be no alcohol on sale in the stadium tomorrow.
Which makes me wonder – if anyone is actually prepared to admit it – how many people who were staggering round the stand in Brugge clutching fistfuls of beer glasses, realised that the “beer” was non-alcoholic :)
That’s exactly what was going through my mind when I was stood underneath that scarf selling van dodging the rain.
Fans were getting pint after pint and holding them up with a drunken swagger singing tics songs.
Mind you I bet a lot of them had been drinking for 8 hours before getting to the ground, so In think we can give them the benefit of the doubt George.
Ha ha, I had no idea it was non-alcoholic! I remember thinking it was strange that fans were drinking beer at a football match but after the hellish trip from the hotel to the ground in pi$$ing down rain and doing a couple of laps of the stadium because of poor stewarding hence missing the first five minutes of the game, we didn’t bother getting one. I bet loads that were drinking it had no idea it was 0% :P
