yes but did you also see him marshalling the lads to come over to the fans after the game? shame he can’t just do it like he did last year – obviously needs 2 solid centre backs around him to bring out his best.
I was right about Ben Watson coming into play centre-back-ish on Saturday. I think I’ll be right about Alcaraz playing on Tuesday, too. Espinoza will probably be the the left wing-back thingy.
I expect Ronnie Stam to be no nearer the pitch than me, with marginally more chance of getting a game.
Hope your right Griff, Ronnie Stam seems to be able to blank peoples minds into thinking he’s worth a place and then everyone realises he cannot defend for toffee!

Fair enough – I wasn’t there on Saturday, so I can’t say much more. He wasn’t to blame for either West Brom goal. I presume that he played his part in Martinez’ plan.
I thought he was respectable against Spurs, and couldn’t be blamed for the equaliser.
At least Martinez has got a choice. Stam can fill in at RWB if Boyce has to play in defence. Roll on Tuesday night!
On Saturday, Martinez started with Boyce, Watson and Scharner. I assume that later Golobart played in defence, allowing Boyce or Watson to move into midfield.
That defence was good enough (perhaps fortunate enough) to survive against Lukaku. Watson actually played that role earlier in the season against Bradford City.
I suspect that Martinez will start tonight with Golobart in defence. Either Boyce or Watson could then play in midfield. I don’t know what Martinez plans for McArthur tonight, but I would rather see him play for 60 minutes than for just 30.
I have been told by my source that he will likely start on the bench. He has been working hard with the team since Saturday and played in a full 11 a side 60 min game on CP. B)
