He didn’t want to come to us from Everton and then he refused to come to us in January when we tried to swap him for Rodders.
Clearly he thinks he’s too good for Wigan.
Just thought I would dangle this little maggot in for you lot to consider
Not really dangling anything out there for me fella. The guy isn’t good enough to make any impact on our current 11 and as previously mentioned, is always injured.
Johnson used to be a decent player. When he moved for 10mil to Everton. In all honesty I think he got found out a bit.

On the Everton move didn’t we offer a decent sum at the time and he fecked us off at the last minute plus the january swap for rodders that did not go through so feck him
Phillips and Ince(both are bloody awesome players!) of Blackpool look very good shouts for me rather than Johnson.I cant stand the swine as he always scores against us-good player but i prefer the current ‘rough diamond’ policy that the club has adopted in recent times and who can say this hasnt paid off?Who as a supporter hasnt been chuffed to see Mcarthur Maloney,Moses,Mccarthy come good this year and for combined fees of under £5 million-hell knows what they are all worth combined now?
Younger players are hungrier than ageing ones like Johnson and i think their are rich pickings in the lower divisions if the scouting network is good enough.

I was impressed by both Phillips and Ince, more so with Phillips and thought the same – If Blackpool don’t beat WHU we should go for one of them.
We seem to be developing a good relationship with Blackpool on the loan front so whilst i would rather see Blackpool win, it may be better for us if they stay down so we can still use them to help us develop our up and coming stars.
Not being funny but this rough diamond policy as been going on for 34 years
It has for sure but we slipped out of this under chris Hutchins/ Steve Bruce and started buying so called ‘finished articles’ like Bent,King, Kapo,Lenzaat,De Ridder,Kirkland. All on huge money and although the current policy didnt wash with most supporters at first who can argue with it now?
We also had spells in the lower divisions were we bought expensive players who didnt deliver when they arrived (Ashcroft, Redfearn ,Howarth spring to mind).

Bit harsh on Redfearn and Haworth imo. Haworth, whilst a lazy barsteward, worked well with Liddell and Barlow in the early part of 1999/2000 and scored some superb goals. Redfearn came in to do a job of steadying the midfield and did exactly that scoring some important goals from the spot and giving us an added edge from free kicks.
Ashcroft was shite though and about 3stone overweight.
Haworth left under a cloud, but he knew where the goal was (if he didn’t have to think about it and just acted instinctively) and scored quite a few important ones for us, and Redfearn was OK.
