4th April…..5 months since Fortune last scored!!!. Manager a knob. Stop signing any more forwards and not using them. If he plays ,were a striker down and effectively playing with 10. Losing again at home and he still gets 82 mins. As soon as I hear his name in the starting 11 my hope of a win at home vanishes, wish Malky would too. Great incentive for Rotherham tonight. I don’t think they need to win another game cos we probably won’t either.
18 March 2015 at 1:19 pm #140436And no more loan players please.
18 March 2015 at 2:50 pm #140437Fortune is a good asset to have, but not alongside someone like Clarke who possesses the same attributes. Either Mckay or the lad from Liverpool need to start alongside him to feed off the good work he does.
EDIT – I also have no issue with loan players. If a player comes available who is better than what you have then you go for it. Harry Maguire for example is better than Leon Barnett.
18 March 2015 at 3:02 pm #140438Harry Maguire had a shocker last night! Fortune brings absolutely nothing to the side, he is easily hassled off the ball and spends half his time on the floor! Last night he had a great chance to put his foot behind the ball and get in a shot on goal but chose to shield it and try to turn 2 defenders, the feeble attempt that he eventually attempted was blocked as most his efforts are, utter garbage! The manager knows best though so no point in opining!

Well Fortune had our only shot on target last night so he clearly brought something to the team that nobody else managed to do.
I like his effort and his work rate but he isn’t going to get us goals and as I’ve said, he can’t play with Clarke as they are too similar. One of them needs to start with Mckay or the lad from Liverpool alongside.

18 March 2015 at 5:00 pm #140448Either play fortune with mckay or waghorn. Simples!!
18 March 2015 at 8:59 pm #140457Sorry …my original post statistically incorrect. 4th April makes it 6 months without a net bulger for our No1 hitman.
18 March 2015 at 10:50 pm #140465It is a ridiculously worrying fact that Grant Holt is still our joint top league scoring striker with two goals and they weren’t even for us.
Holt 2
Waghorn 2
Fortune 1
McKay 0
Clarke 1
Riera 1
DeLort 0Troy Deeney scored more in 90 minutes last night than Fortune has scored in 27 matches this season.

Troy Deeney puts himself about a bit and knows where the back of the net is whereas Fortune isn’t a very good footballer at all!

I understand your point, but listing Holt as our joint top scorer in the league no sense at all. He isn’t because he didn’t score them for us.
Delort has also scored while on loan at Tours as has Riera at La Coruña. -
