I really do believe that if Diame can control Song and whoever is marking Van Persie likewise we will win. I think we might do anyway.

just waiting here to see your optimism thrown back in your face by you know who?. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Caldwell was a rock on Saturday I believe. If we can just start to be consistent and have a regular back 4 who can gel, half the battle will be won ! From the bits I did see, both Stam and
Figs went walkabout on the odd occasion which was worrying ! Figs is known for it but when they both do it !! The fact that Bob has dropped Watson seems to tell a tale as well ! Gomez seems to have come on after his spell out of the starting 11 and I am hoping the same can be said for Rodders when he gets another chance.Watson for me doesn’t cut it ! Bob does seem to have changed a few things which for now seem to be working. It has taken a while for the penny to drop but it couldn’t carry on like that could it ! I have mentioned on another thread that we could perhaps get something from Arsenal on Sat ! Here’s hoping !
This is excellent optimism lads , keep walking towards the light. :woohoo:
It’s not just Wigan that they seem to dread coming to , it’s the North West in general. This season they’ve had a good tonking at Man U & even lost at Cheatburn.
I agree with Yoss  that we have to keep Van Persie quiet but I also worry ,with our new system ,about Walcott. As good as Jones has been at wing back , I wouldn’t like to see him there on Saturday with Walcott in the vicinity.
We have shifted sides to the ” Fair Weather Fan Club ” !!
Fair Weather Fan Club? YOu mean those who support the manager and team bo matter what the result? Never was a phrase used so out of context.
For the record Yosser, I applaud your optimism. The Arsenal team and supporters hate coming to Wigan so, you never know.[/quote]
It’s not just that Standish. Having watched the game back, We did something that we hadn’t, Couldn’t do so far this season. Defended well, Attacked as an army and covered basic positions. I would disagree with what Bruce says when he says ‘We battered Wigan’ I think they had a few reasonable chances and a lot more huff and puff. But we actually went for it towards the end. In fact the whole second half. Nice to see a wave of blue heading towards the opposition goal and flanking back when possession was lost. Arsenal are though of course, A different kettle of fish.
We need a right back in January. I saw Corluka want’s to go out on loan from Spurs. Yes please.
