      Yet again, another “Turning Point”

How many of these will he claim we have. Could one of the Superfans please advise what is reasonable.

I don’t get how a 1-1 draw at home against a fellow struggler can be perceived as a turning point? Perhaps if we had won convincingly, say 3 or 4 nil. Now that would be a turning point.

Having looked at the remaining 20 games, 10 home, 10 away, I honestly can’t see us picking a lot of points up. A string of draws, a couple of wins, and a string of defeats. I wouldn’t be surprised if we only pick up another 15 points, or so. I mean, you can see the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Villa, etc coming and beating us.

        Will 33/34 points be enough?

That last day at Chelsea could be a mammoth task in the making.

I bet you two have been a barrel of laughs over christmas. Do you get invited to a lot of parties?

No, it’s just that some of us are realist’s. We are nowhere near good enough. Pi** poor, in fact.

I predict that over the next few weeks, we will drop further down, thus putting more necessity on the need for new signings. January will make or break our season, make no mistake.

Can you honestly not see how deep we are in the sh*t this season?

But you are forgetting we are playing great football, and we have a striker who couldnt hit a barn door, and we keep playing players out of position and a manager who thinks 451 is a good system to play at home, but eh it doesnt matter we are only wigan athletic and we should nt be in this league and we shouldnt question the chairman nor the manager because the team is doing so well,

We never kicked on from our first season finish in 10th place.

Jimmy Bullard could obviously see the wood for the trees and got out sharpish. :(

We just always work with such a stretched squad, with little in back up to the players we have on the pitch. There are players in the squad who haven’t contributed anything, or barely anything. Kapo? De Ridder? Koumas? We got lucky with the King situation, but even that left us a player down. I’m dreading this window, and turning Sky on to be told “Sunderland have tabelled a 6 million pound bid for Wigan’s Maynor Figueroa, and are about to offer another 5 million for Hugo Rodallega” on the last day of the transfer window. You can just see players going. Ok, if they want to go, there’s not a lot you can do. I know, and accept that. But it’s what you do in return. It’ll be no good getting to the deadline, having spend 2 million on someone from Swansea, and having a couple of foreigners come in who are “ones for the future”. This season, more than ever, it’s GOT to be minimum ‘like for like’, with an actual improvement on quality, if possible.

It is my opinion that this squad is the worst we’ve had since 2005. Since last January, we’ve lost a whole Midfield, and our centre forward. How crazy is that? In no way have we replaced them with anything like the quality lost, and in my opinion, there lies the problem.

If it’s a fact that the money had to go on steadying club finances, leaving little available for reinvestment on new players, then I think we’d be better off a league lower anyway, rather than treading water and going through the same old motions year after year. What? 12m for Palacios, 16m for Valencia, 7 million for Cattermole, whatever we got for Heskey as well? Must be around 50 million. If we struggle that much to survive at the top level, is it worth it? Will any forthcoming money also ‘vanish’ in the same way?

Like it or not, the next 5 weeks or so will tell us all we need to know about the regime of the club and the ambition and desire from the very top. Personally, I think they’ve been playing dangerous games for the past few seasons. Might be once too many, this season.

I don’t expect anything daft, like £20 million on a player, or anything like that. Just a bit of ‘ambition’, the type of which got us into the top flight in the first place.

I suggest you change your username to “stopped clock”, you spout that much spurious drivel that you can’t fail to be correct at least twice a day. At the end of the season you will no doubt bore us with “I told you so” because you have now covered every possible scenario. :?

Thing is, you KNOW I’m right. ;)
