Is anyone else a little frustrated/jealous seeing Wright Phillips, Barton and Bellamy (if he goes) signing for QPR whilst we bring in an unknown and Shaun Maloney?
Ill be behind anyone who puts on a Latics shirt but I do wish we would get a more established PL player. Theres plenty of them still around and we have the money to make the deal.

Money Talks, and QPR are paying it.
I dont see any of those 3 players as being the right character for WIgan, as Bob would put it.
We have had a loan bid knocked back from Chelski for one of their wonder kids.

Cusat isn’t unknown, and you seem to forget we have also signed Jones and Al Habsi.
Barton and Bellamy I wouldn’t touch with a bargepole. And SWP’s best days are behind him.
And… you also have to remember that QPR will be far more attractive to players because they’re in London. We can’t help that – and frankly if what attracts a player is the bright lights of London, then maybe they aren’t what we want.

Bellamy – to drop a 110K contract and fit into our wage structure? no chance!
Wright-Phillips – crap!
Barton – good player and I think he would do fantastic for us! although I think his wages would be around 50-60k and if we cant afford that for Charles we deffo wont be handing it out to toe rag joe…..

ok, what about David N’Gog who looks to be on his way to feckin Bolton?
He could have been a good young player to bring in.I just think we should be ‘raising the bar’ in terms of who we are going for.
Obviously, I dont know what goes on behind the scenes, and maybe we did go for ‘bigger’ names.

I think that one reason that we have managed to survive is that we don’t just sign marquee players just because we can. :teasing-blah: It’s pointless moaning until we’ve a) seen who is with us by the end of the day b) seen Crusat and Maloney in action
I’m up in Scotland and talking to one or two Celtic fans who really rate Maloney. We might still end up with Dos Santos (gone quiet on that one) and Beausejour yet as well. If we do then we would most certainly have a stronger squad then we have ever had. Having said all that, I wish we had QPR’s money (but not their awful away strip!!)
Hopeing Crusat and Maloney arnt the only signings we get…. What happened to our loanee’s??
I think the loan signings tend to be late on, as they usually are based on other players coming into clubs.
Maybe Bob is lining up players in case Rodders goes.
