The first HOME game as a football league club was vs Tranmere Rovers in the league cup 1st rd 2nd leg WON 2-1
Yes it was a midweek match and it was the first home game.
First league match was against Hereford Town…

First league home game was Grimsby …. I think we then lost at home to Newport when Joe Hinnigan scored our first league goal (first at home any road I think)
First league win at home to Rochdale (or Halifax)?? In another midweek match that I missed as I was stuck in the Lakes on a 3 week Outward Bound Course……rubbish time that was
