 You really want to defend this kit don’t you.
It looks amateur, seems it’s been designed by the same person who designed the initial vandanel kit for this coming season before they went bust so its probably just someone within the club.
Was planning on buying it, absolutely no chance now.

:) I don’t particularly want to defend it, no. I honestly can’t get excited about it at all because I never buy them.
If I were to have a concern it would be that the team don’t look stupid in it and I don’t think they will. Grown men who are not actually playing football at the time they are wearing a replica shirt look stupid in them anyway, in my opinion, so I don’t really care about that side of things.
If pushed, I’d have to say I’d prefer the traditional striped effort but this is not a million miles away in my view. As Tyldesley says, you can’t please everyone. Some will like it, some won’t. Personally, I couldn’t care less.[/quote]
Not going to disagree with anything said there but it does slightly annoy me watching us in our cheap kits up against the conistently smart kits of the bigger teams. It does make us look amateur-ish, but thats just my opinion.
20 July 2010 at 4:20 pm #40459More likely designed by his son :oDoesn’t his grandson run Mi-fit? In which case my comment makes sense but yours doesn’t seem to :?

It looks like it’s been designed by someone in Tony Hart’s gallery.
“Nathaniel….who is 10 and from Much Wenlock. He’s used a texture of pure cotton wool, blueberries, and turd-juice, to produce this absolutely splendid turd of a kit design…..wonderful, isn’t it Margot?”

I wasn’t disputing your statement Griff, merely trying to say its a terrible kit and probably design by someone mental, aka his son. Keep up son!

If that’s true about his son, then it’s not a very nice thing to be saying now, is it?
20 July 2010 at 4:56 pm #40474Just pinched this from our friends at Wiganer.

From what I have heard, Whelan bought out Vandanel before they went bust “to save the club shop”. And a week before MiFit was announced as our new kit supplier Whelan bought them out too!
They have just simply took the designs put forward from Vandanel last season and stuck a Mifit badge on them.
20 July 2010 at 4:58 pm #40476Also last season proposed away kit design….

Is this to be this seasons away kit???

Already been mentioned in this thread pal :D
20 July 2010 at 5:00 pm #40479Shrewsbury Town, Carlisle United, etc spring to mind.
You say that but even Morcambe have a smart Puma kit

and Swindon with adidas

To be honest 1932 – those 2 kits you bring up are IMO good examples of how a well known manufacturer can churn out pretty rank kits of their own. The Swindon one especially is awful – although both of them may well be made from a better material than the Mi-fit effort
I saw United’s latest effort in the JJB shop window in St Helens the other day & it seems Nike are capable of coming up with duds of their own too. Chelsea’s is another example of Adidas getting it wrong
The Latics one Puma made was awful & I didn’t particularly like the first Adidas effort either.
Anyway my point being that getting a big name manufacturer in is no guarantee that the kit will be any good20 July 2010 at 5:02 pm #40481From what I have heard, Whelan bought out Vandanel before they went bust “to save the club shop”. In the words of the late, great Bill Hicks…
Yeah… And…. So…. What?

I quite like the West Ham away design.
Tottenham’s home shirt is a bit weird, but obviously a ‘retro’ style design.
I think all look pretty smart. Wouldn’t of minded having Puma and the design they have used for the Newcastle kit.
20 July 2010 at 5:24 pm #40487BREAKING NEWS!
It’s a blue and white Latics shirt………………….
For those who want stripes there’s a batch of last seasons shirt available for a tenner apiece.

I think the design of the Sunderland and West Brom home kits. West Broms is spoiled by the massive sponsors logo but i think the Sunderland logo actually suits the shirt.
20 July 2010 at 5:46 pm #40494Another broken promise by the club again it seems.Getting back to the original question, NO still havent had my email.
