Just looking at everybody’s remaining fixtures and it’s a really hard call, since most teams above us appear to have equally tough fixtures and six point battles to face. If the EFL get their finger out and penalise Reading with 6 points, then that drags them right in the mixer. Let’s just take each cup final as it comes and then anything could happen !

As prep for the Blades game, I would sit the squad down and show them the “Paul Jewell” game from that famous great escape game of the season at Bramhall Lane. Mind you that’s just one of the box set :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Here’ to add one more to that box set collection :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

That Paul Jewell Sheffield United game still gives me the jeepers to this day.

There’s always one team that plummets, whilst one finds the escape ladder :good: :good: :good:

Perhaps you’ll stop bleating that the EFL have it in for Wigan and nobody else.

        Out of order mutty.

Nobody has really contested the 3 point deduction

But the 12 points a few years ago was an entirely different matter.

With your obsession about all things Wigan Athletic, you know this.

Need the Easter of all Easter’s to enter a relegation battle against all the odds.
A very tall order indeed to pull this round , sorry to be so pessimistic.

Well it will be confirmed this week the inevitable and relegation to league hoof. I can’t say I’m shocked more disappointed as I thought the new owners had the job at hand and with summer investment we’d push for a lower to mid position but how far I was wrong.
Little investment and manager after manager and a pot of money emptied the year before has left the club in complete disarray. I don’t even think it’s the losing that has caused so much anger amongst certain pockets of fans but more the way we’ve been losing.
There was a side in Blackpool who had lost their last 4 games 4-1 3-1 1-3 3-1 and were for the taking and we put in a performance like we just didn’t care.
I was gobsmacked at the decision to bring on Fletcher for Whatmough with only 35mins go e surely a like for like so early on in the game (Caulker on) but like I’ve pointed out numerous times, there must be something in Fletchers contract:-
              No play?
              We pay!!
Another thing, I can’t remember us ever having so many injuries and patched up players long and short term injuries in one season especially centre halfs. Then all the players sent out on loan and others never getting a sniff which made no sense what so ever to me.

There’s an old well worn saying “If ain’t broke don’t fix it”. Well in our case its so broken it’s barely recognisable from last season.A disjointed, slow, thrown together, passionless side who offer no threat what so ever has took its toll not only on the players but us fans as well.

I’m sorry but if our owners think we can go into L1 and go all-in full extreme by throwing elevating the youth side to the 1st team then I’m afraid their living in Dreamworld.

We need a mix of senior and youth players blended in together and slowly bring it together, a massive undertaking by any manager but even harder for one with little managerial experience.
The one thing Maloney does possess is, an understanding of the club and youth is on his side.
There’s nothing more I can say other than let’s get it over with this Tuesday Wednesday rather than draw the pain out any further

I still say it to this day that that was the best display of how to defend from a centre forward ive ever seen.
