The team are playing with a certain degree of confidence at the moment and I can’t see us finishing anywhere else but top, what do you think?
3 February 2018 at 10:17 pm #165885We seemed to drop a few gears after going two up today then just be content to see the game out. we were completely in control and could have scored more. This can be one of two reasons: 1) Game plan to preserve energy and game management .. or 2) Overconfidence thinking Gillingham wont score. Im happy to go with the first reason and all credit to Cook for instilling a mix of confidence whilst making sure we keep our feet on the ground together with superb team spirit.
3 February 2018 at 10:28 pm #165886The first half performance was excellent, dominated it, really good attacking football. Great to watch. Bit cold today!
3 February 2018 at 10:30 pm #165887Only criticism I can come up with is we need to be a bit more clinical when we break forward. We tend to overpass it, or make the wrong final ball. If we had been more clinical today, we would have won 4 nil.
That’s not to take anything away from a very good and comfortable performance. Well done lads.

3 February 2018 at 10:31 pm #165889The team are playing with a certain degree of confidence at the moment and I can’t see us finishing anywhere else but top, what do you think?Any other season fil promotion by now would be virtually assured. W T F do we have to do to lose the Shrews? Another last gasp winner keeps them hot on our heels so fair play to them. Rovers were always gonna be up there and that’s it as far as we are concerned. The games in hand now are crucial as it gives us a sizeable gap over 3rd were we to win them. Next Saturday is also pivotal we must win at Southend as Rovers will beat the other Latics though Shrews have the ever improving Plymouth at home which could be tricky. We must go into the City game still top with points advantage. We are certainly good enough to win it now but there is always doubt as long as Rovers and Shrews are breathing down our necks. C,Mon both Latics next week.
3 February 2018 at 10:59 pm #165890We have scored just shy of 2 a game vat. We wont score 4 every week. Sometimes it sticks and sometimes it doesn’t.
Shrewsbury remind me of Burton 2 years ago. They keep fighting and will either go up automatically or fail miserably in the playoffs.
3 February 2018 at 10:59 pm #165891Nailed on League 1 Champions for me filmoss…
First half performance today was some of the best footy ive seen this season.
Shrewsbury have Plymouth next then Rotherham at home. They’ll drop points there for sure. Reckon we’ll win our next two and be four points clear when we play City.

There are big similarities between Shrews & Burton Egg. I think they’ll go up via the play off’s with Blackburn going up with us automatically.

Good win again over a form side.
First half was as good as you would ever wish to see us play.
The speed we moved the ball from defence through the midfield and into an attacking situation was sublime at times.
Can’t half think that with James,Powell and Grigg in full fitness and Byrne and Morsy not out on loan last season we would have stayed up.3 February 2018 at 11:05 pm #165894Work in Blackburn….cocky Rovers fans been boasting all week that they unbeaten in 18……and nailed on for minimum top 2 spot if not top..I warned them that to disregard Shrewsbury would be disrespectful….theyve been up there all season and deservedly so.Yes theyve bagged loads of late goals but as they proved against us they are super fit….frustrate and tire teams out then pounce late.Love to see Rovers squirming in the play offs !!

MOM in my opinion up to going off. I then thought Max Power after 90 mins was MOM. It would have been Powell but he didn’t do any of that ball drag back and side foot thingymibob so lost a few points.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!3 February 2018 at 11:20 pm #165898Just don’t see it with Colclough personally. Goes down easier than a Bolton prozzy.
