last week i felt that that was that & our dream was over. however, after the west brom & blackburn games my optisism has returned, mainly due to passion & committment shown by the players coupled with less of the sideways passing but more direct approach. admittedly we are still trying to play a neat passing game & i will never argue about that. but i felt there has been more tempo in our last 2 games & more forward passing.
come on lads – you’ve got 12 cup finals to go. my message to all on here is to forget our petty differences, whether you follow the dark side or the light side – lets pull together & get behind the lads from now until may. COME ON!!!!!!!!! :D
We have to win the games against the teams around us. We have dropped 4 points recently against Fulham and West Brom. Do that against West Ham and Brum and we could struggle.
There are a lot of fixtures between the bottom 4/5 sides still to go so who knows?

Don’t get me wrong, I do think we’ll go down, but after yesterday’s second half display and the fight shown I’m a tad more optimistic.

Pity we haven’t won a few more. We’ve done more drawing than Tony Hart, and have lost games we really needed to win. Newcastle at home, and Fulham.

I understand where the original poster is coming from and I want us to do well but the pitch did have a massive bearing on what happened yesterday ! I had been saying all week that if we didnt beat Blackburn then that was it in my eyes. Now we have beat them and for now we are out of the bottom 3 but there are 3 very difficult games ahead and it is gonna be tough. I get behind the team despite not rating RM and when the team puts in a shift I am more than happy. Its when I see lazy cant be bothered players skulking around stealing a living that does my swede in ! We have a couple of hardy keen lads in our squad and if they can gee up some of the more relaxed ones then we may just have a chance of turning this around !! Heres hoping !! :thumbup:
vat 69 i am not getting carried away with one win. had we have lost yesterday then i would have been confident that that was that! but be honest, a win renews optimism & belief. even amongst the players.
i would like us playing like we have done in the past 2 games with a bit of fight & determination. if we still end up going down at least we would have done so fighting.

Most fans realise that we wont get diddley squat out of the next 3 games and it will be a tough four weeks for the fans who still have that bit of opimism
I said before christmas that four points a month will keep us up and we have achieved that for Feb
What pi$$es me off more is that some fans on this forum seem to take a lot of pleasure when the Shyte its the fan
But when we win go into hiding and begrude any back slapping when it is needed
