I was going to come on here and post that we were the best team today, had all the possesion but got done by a couple of dodgy decisions but on reflection changed my mind. Not just today but the general pattern of play when we play teams such as Blackburn is that we have all the possesion and LOOK the better side but in reality very rarely test there keeper. Are we deceiving ourselves?
This is mainly due to our formation if you have 10 players behind the ball it is easier to keep possesion but when 1 guy gets isolated up front on his own its very difficult for him. The opposition then rely on set pieces and in some teams cases the big hoof but its always good enough to beat us.
We can debate formations all day and Im not calling for 4-4-2 but our formation does not get men in the box. The goal scored column proves that. (How many of them have come from open play as well?)
Ask yourself the question why the lone striker role under Bob has yielded so few goals? Scotland, Moreno, Santo Boselli (2 goals in 50+ games I think) Are they really such bad strikers?
Every football fan on the planet prefers passing to the big hoof buts its got to have an end product and be successful, Bobs quite obviously is not.
