I think that there may be a good chance of avoiding relegation .. there is a ‘ feel good ‘ factor . which . I know , doesn’t make points .. but I feel that maybe we can tighten up defensively , and improve through midfield , and also from a scoring perspective .. always glass 99% glass full person ..think we’ll win at Blackbiurn 1 2 !
1 February 2023 at 6:04 pm #198268I agree a few new faces new manager hopefully with a new mindset but my nagging doubt is, were the fook are the goals gonna come from ???.
We’ve not a forward in the club who could get 10-12 goals between now and the end of the season.
Also, no left back, so he must thinking of playing Rekik over there with a 3 at the back.
If we can get our sh*t together and catch Blackburn cold (very hit n miss) we might just come away with a draw but I’m still disappointed we never addressed the 2 positions in the transfer window1 February 2023 at 6:30 pm #198269With a more progressive midfield .. creating more chances .. confident in their defence .. !
1 February 2023 at 7:05 pm #198270Clinging to the hope that second half season malaise kicks in soon with some mid table sides who with no chance of relegation or promotion and then switch off a bit.
Even then with a tightened defence will we get the ball out of our half ?
Blackburn game coming up , a ground we have only ever won at once in our history so a draw is the best I’m expecting especially at present.
I wish the new manager well and I have always had a lot of time for Barrow, his management in 1994-95 saving the club from relegation from the football league in many respects paved the way for the golden era under Whelan.
Not much to grasp at really when all said and done and my grim feeling left by being outclassed by a very poor Hull city team at the turn of the year won’t go away.
Really hope I’m wrong1 February 2023 at 7:25 pm #198272Midfield .. that , in my opinion is where any positivity will bring a turnaround …ps .. it’s always coldest before the sun rises .. stay positive but also realistic !
1 February 2023 at 9:13 pm #198273Preston must be asking where are the goals gonna come from when Ched Evans is their leading scorer with six !
Bet they wish they had Will Keane2 February 2023 at 2:18 pm #198274Well we’ll soon see soon enough whether Maloney can actually get them to gel in the very short time we have.
Blackburn have lost 13 and lie 6th
Blackpool have lost 13 and lie 23rd
Blackburn are very much beatable on any given day. It just depends what side of the bed they get up on.Wyke and Cousins along with Pearce are never fit so sadly all three need to move on at some point hopefully in the summer.
Looks like Sunderland got their own back with the Grigg sale2 February 2023 at 8:19 pm #198279Looks like Sunderland got their own back with the Grigg sale
Nope, because you got him for free. Same as three times L1 winner Max Power.
You are more than welcome to both.
3 February 2023 at 7:51 am #198281Far too fickle up at Sunderland for me.
Grigg and Power were both very instrumental players in the league 1 promotion seasons they featured in but struggled up there in the same division.
Strange that they excelled here but not up there. -
